"Inside garage" How do you organize your projects?

We call it the Saturday Morning Shuffle. Bikes, Cars, Trailers, etc. get rolled out to the driveway and that usually leaves a couple of hours before dark to start on whatever it was we were going to do, if we can remember it by then.

Looking for Work bench top ideas

In on this one too, for my reloading bench. Probably going with 3/4 ply doubled up but that stuff has gotten expensive!

    Treated or untreated bench legs?

I'm sure this won't spark any debate at all :) I'm starting my long overdue reloading bench build, using the NRMA bench plans as a guideline... but my my current analysis paralysis is stuck on whether to use treated or untreated 4*4 lumber for the legs. It will be sitting on a concrete floor...

    Roll for big wrenches?

I’m pretty sure I got their biggest one but I’m sure you see there are other sizes 😀 Don’t have a 3” combo but there are some big ones, including for tow hitches and whatnot. I just needed something for a little organization and to keep them from rattling around too much and it’s been fine for...

    Roll for big wrenches?

I bought one of these for some large combo wrenches I keep in the RV. Doesn’t see day-in-day-out use but good for my purposes: https://www.toolpak.com/21-giant-wrench-wrap

Garage looks too big, so my boss says. Any design ideas appreciated.

Tell her it will shrink when the weather turns cold.

How would you handle this drainage problem?

Throw a handful of lady finger type firecrackers in there and listen for the echo… That will have no helpful information for you at all to the best of my knowledge, but that’s what I’d do for the entertainment value.

Garage lighting what should I do? Please help

I can’t add to the lighting discussion, but nice job on the “kids space” garage. Different than the usual garage setups we see here a lot; working on that Dad of the Year nomination maybe? 😄

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Supposed to be hotter than normal next week so checked out the AC condenser coils. Desperately in need of cleaning so did a deep clean, took off the outer grills and washed off all the crud. So I guess that’s just outside the garage but close enough!

Is a thumb wheel ratchet useless?

You mean the kind with a handle or literally the palm/thumbwheel type? The latter was incredibly useful recently when replacing blend door motor gears on a Jeep WK2… I couldn’t have gotten any other tool from my box in there without disassembling a LOT more dash than I wanted to. edit: replied...

Cost of Tools vs Cost of Service

All of this plus: I enjoy doing it (most of the time) - as an IT guy by trade I don’t get my hands dirty enough — and — Good opportunity to spend time with the kids and teach them a few skills. They can then make an educated decision later to DIY things or not but at least they should know...

dust deputy attached to dust extractor - implosion possible?

I put it on the inside... I just traced the top and bottom of the bucket, then cut halfway between those marks. It wasn't pretty but it seems to work. I don't think it affects airflow because it's down in the bucket... most the airflow is through the deputy I believe. It's the lack of it +...
