    Boiler question

Thanks for the replies guys. I put it back in. The boiler sounded like it was having a hard time starting as if the air mixture was incorrect, go figure lol. Upon further review with a stethoscope the rattling seems to be coming from the housing i circled. The tinkerer in me wants to take it...

    Boiler question

Sorry, that would have been helpful. Its a Beckett Model AFII 150 series. Yes the baffle sits behind that piece I circled. That cover comes off. There is an air hole at the bottom.

    Boiler question

Out of nowhere my boiler started making a rattling noise coming from the motor/fan housing. I took the cover off to see what I could see and spinning it by hand there was no noise. I let the boiler cycle on without the cover or baffle to see if I could see where the rattle was coming from...

    Who knows about electric motors?

I may just call a local place thank you for trying. I already have one for the main motor I mean I’d probably get a cheaper one for that I just didn’t want wires everywhere if a motor was the same price or even a little more I’d go that route just for a cleaner install

    Who knows about electric motors?

Hey all I just acquired a new to me Bridgeport milling machine. It came with a power feed for the x travel but the motor is 3 phase. I’m already going to run a VFD for the spindle motor and would rather not have to get another one for the power feed so I was looking into changing the motor...

    Show your new tool arrivals

Thank you! I intend to have a lot of fun, I cant wait to learn all I can. And thank you for the list! I actually have a dial indicator with a mag base and a test indicator already. Got those when I got my South Bend lathe. It seems like a super stout machine especially for a home shop.

Picked up a new to me Rong Fu RF-31 Mill drill this past weekend. Super pumped to start learning. Came with a set of parallels, end mills, a vise, some aluminum stock, a fairly hoaky DRO, a super stout wooden base with casters and the clamping set that everyone with a mill has.

    Isolating a live water line?

OMG that video was horrendous to watch lol. So shutting off the water it is. I was just hoping there was a saddle fitting that would pierce the pipe with a valve that can be closed to isolate the pipe, like in some utility operations.

    Isolating a live water line?

I've never done it before and I have a water softener system and some other kind of filter so Im not sure if I will screw anything up. Stupid question but how would I put something such as bread in the pipe and then sweat in a new valve? How would I get the bread out? Again please forgive me if...

    Isolating a live water line?

The valve for the feed for my water spigot leaks when open. It leaks when its just cracked or open fully. I don't want to drain the entire house to replace this one valve. Is there a way aside from dry ice to isolate the water line so I could change the valve out?

    Storing large wrenches

My garage is finished so theres no hanging them from the joists. I barely ever use them, maybe a wrench roll would be a good idea.
