Putting router, switch, etc in attic. Hear me out

No way I would put that equipment in the attic. In the summer, it gets really hot. To cool, you need heat transfer. Blowing really hot air over equipment that is hot won't do it. It may work for a while, but you will likely have lots of weird problems before the failures start happening.

do you have your computer in your garage?

Yep. Have an older sff dell desktop. Use it for alldata access, look up stuff, etc. Very handy to have, and don't have to worry about the ipad getting dirty/cracked/abused while out there.

    Garage stool w/backrest needed...

I have that one. It's ok, but sitting on it for more than a few minutes isn't very comfortable. I'll replace it if I can find one with better padding.

    Vehicle Maintenance Log

I also just use a small spiral notepad in each car. Got that habit from my Dad. It always starts with the purchase date and mileage. Then every maintenance item gets listed with the date, mileage, and action performed.

Dear Sears (5 years from now)

Casual wrencher here....I'd say 95% of my hand tools (sockets, wrenches, etc) are craftsman. 5 years ago, it was 100%. My first non craftsman purchase was actually Snap On - bought a torgue wrench. I don't need their quality for most things I do, but some things matter. Anyways, I also now have...

    Garage door openers

I have an 8500, so its the older model. I had the first one for roughly 4 years and then lightning took out the board - so not Liftmaster's fault. Got a replacement - same model. It's now around 4 years old. I've had a couple issues. the cables came off the rollers a couple of times. I called a...

Remember when it was warm enough to work in your garage?

Was in the garage a lot this weekend. On Sunday it was in the teens all day - and a nice 64 degrees thanks to the mini split. Best. Investment. Ever.

    The ridge wallet

I've had mine for around 2 years now - I love it. I never carry a lot of cash, and almost never use it when I do have it. As for the number of cards you can carry...everyone's needs are different. I just counted - I have 11 cards - license, credit cards, some id cards, etc. No I can't put other...

    Moving Scissors Lift

I have a Bendpak MD-6XP. A few years ago, we built a new house. I told the moving company what I had, gave them the weight, and they moved it no problem. I may have had to pay an extra 20 bucks or so for a heavy item charge - I can't remember. Money well spent either way. The movers were 4...

    My 24 x 32 2 car "garage" build

This is why I love this site. I just happened onto his thread and saw this. I've been contemplating a solution for my garage. I have a single garage with a regular door on one end and a 4 ft wide roll up door on the other. I've been finishing it out, and now have it insulated and a mini split...

Home Depot installed carpet in 6 rooms total but some carpet has came unraveled

Yeah, more than likely its the animals. We had berber carpet at our old house. With pets. Worst decision ever. We had runs everywhere. I will never have berber carpet again. Ever.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Took care of some little tasks that I have procrastinated on for a long time. Painted the heat pump condensation lines on the side of the house -no more ugly white pvc pipes sticking out against the brick. Removed the metal dealer logo plate and adhesive from the truck tailgate. Began re...
