Pull up the rotted floor and staple down METAL window screen across the floor joists. Use pressure treated 2x6's as the new floor and you shouldn't have any more issues. The screen keeps the bugs out and there air will be able to circulate through the gaps in the flooring.

Use a small live trap that has a door on each end. I've only had 2 get away. I bait with peanut butter, but I won't disclose how I dipose of them to keep everyone happy.

I have 3 bulb highbay T5HO fixtures in my shop. The F54T5 bulbs I am using are 5,000 lumens each and each fixture has a pretty good reflector. I could be wrong (happened once) but I think you may get more light from the T5HO bulbs instead of the LED bulbs

I've done lots of questionable things in my life BUT I would NEVER weld on a fuel tank with fuel in it. Everything has a flash point.

With the line voltage stat, you add it inline to the hot wires to the heater. The stat I bought is double pole and has a dedicated off position. It's similar to the one below.

A line voltage thermostat should work for you. I recently added 1 to the heater in my woodworking room. It's not 100% accurate, but it does allow you to control the temp a little better.
