    Car Wheel Dolly Storage

I simply drilled a hole on one end and hung them on the wall, in studs, of course.

Added the garage journal to my garage!

Are those cabinets that are on top of the table secured to the wall? Looks a little shakey there.

If something is not level, would it drive you nuts?

Ok, different approach here: are they level with the ceiling? I ask because you said these were cabinets above the workbench. I would think, optically, not being not level with the ceiling would have precedence over not being level with the floor. Optically speaking, of course.

    Modifying a utlity lawn trailer

Ok, I get it :-). The car in question is a Lotus Elan, 1500 lbs. I've towed one before with the Elan on it but with the rails (5' x 10') , but it was very 'inconvienent' with the rails. I agree, a better choice of trailer would simply be....a better choice. Thanks all.

    Modifying a utlity lawn trailer

I've been thinking of getting one of those little trailers with the rails around it, usually angle iron, about a foot high with a full width ramp. I was going to then cut the rails down to the platform so it can be use for a small car. I was told that those rails actually support and hold...

    Drill press pulley removal

Update: I was able to remove the retaining disc with vice grips. The threads are normal, ie, righty tighty, lefty loosey. Thanks for the tip on removing the pulley. A simple pry up with a large screwdriver did the trick.

    Drill press pulley removal

Hi all, Just wondering how the heck the retaining 'nut/disc' for the pulley shown is removed? I've got a pin tool and I understand the threads are reversed, ie, clockwise to loosen. True? Is it ok to hold the splined shaft with a socket while I wrestle with the pin tool? A 9/16" six point...

    Chicago drill press

I just bought this table top drill press from an estate sale. Although made in Taiwan, it's heavy as he**. I think it was an ok deal at $45. As you can see its 12 speed and its currently on 2420rpm. I plan on using it mostly for metal drilling. I was wondering what speed should this thing...

Help! Walls made of OSB problems

How about just cutting up the middle of a stud with a circular saw to eliminate the overhanging part, on either side, to be able to nail in a sheet on studs? I think it'll be less work than tearing it all off.

    Gararage sale location tips

Must be a location thing. The professional ones here seem to deal with antiques and collectibles and don't really know $hit about 'guy hardware'. They just want it out of the house. That said, I know a few estate dealers here who do price hardware high, but not retail high, and I avoid...

    Gararage sale location tips

I really thnk estate sales are the best 'bang for the buck' professional or not. Go to www.estatesales.net and browse to your city. I find private sales to be higher prices than the pro run ones. They're just proud of their stuff. The pro, on the other hand, has one objective: Get...
