Are all TPMS Sensor the Same

Yep, there is more than frequency that gets programmed to them. Not sure what, or why each car has to be different, but some makes have a ton of options (this means you Chevy Camaro and Corvette) DaveW

Hunter RL Alignment Lift unbalanced when going up or down

What happens if you switch the hoses left to right? Am I thinking correctly that if it were a hydraulic issue, that would make the other side go up too fast? Just vomiting ideas.... DaveW

Hunter RL Alignment Lift unbalanced when going up or down

How far out of balance is it? When I had one of those, it would get about 1-1.5 out and when I asked my Hunter guy about it, he said "Those RL were always funky :)" End of conversation.... I got in the habit of running it all the way up first to level it, or setting it on the alignment legs...

    Tire changer head options

No idea, I have never mounted a motorcycle tire but I would expect that a regular head would work fine on a 17" diameter wheel, even a motorcycle one. The curve of the standard one is not right for smaller diameter stuff (especially 10") so the motorcycle one lets it conform closer to the wheel...

    Tire changer head options

For whatever it is worth, the actual Hunter/BUtler brand plastic heads may be worth the investment if they will mount to your machines. We use these on our trackside machines. https://www.hunter.com/shop-hunter/consumables-accessories/accessory-details/221-675-2...

Eltwin SureStart Connection on Air Compressor

It is. You can hear it bleed off head pressure after it shuts off. Also if the generator shuts off for some reason while it is running, the compressor will not restart (with any generator)until you drain the tank of pressure - one of my early 9500 gensets had a habit of shutting off for no...

Eltwin SureStart Connection on Air Compressor

I am trying to install a Eltwin SureStart soft starter on my Eastwood 30/60 scroll compressor. https://www.eltwin.com/download/18.7fa263da18fc3316f1e12f/1717131208322/Standard%20Instruction%20-%20115230%20V.pdf (Back story) We use this compressor in our tire mounting trailer that we take to...

    Wheel Balancer Accuracy and Repeatability

Since I read your original post, when I think of it, I have been loosening the collar, moving the wheel and re-spinning a few assemblies when balancing on my Hunter at work. I have had one of them out of about a dozen ask for different weights and only .25oz. The typical procedure is to spin...

New mechanic looking for advice on impacts

I don't do anything heavy duty needing a 3/4, but for automotive/light truck, I have not use my trusty IR air 1/2 stuff since I got my first DeWalt 20v stuff about 8-10 years ago. The 18v stuff I had before was pretty crappy for automotive use (I had a bunch for a decade I spent in...

Milton tire air fitting you didn’t know you need for inflating.

Yeah, exactly. I personally mount about 2000 tires per year, most performance/low profile. Its not very many that will seat at 40psi. Continentals lately seem to always take 80. The popular Bridgestone 200TW can take...more than 80...it is also one that catches the bead guard on the wheel...

    Storm door choice---Anderson vs. Larson

I have a Larson full views with the fancy built in closer and would not buy again. The handle started out as brass but faded to a brushed chrome look on the outside. The one on our front door which gets used the most often has already had one closer fail, which was on perpetual backorder...

Pressure bleeder for new GMs (and maybe others)

Yes, that is the exact procedure I use. I do use bottles to catch but obviously not required. Brake bleeding is like religion and oil....everyone has a favorite and the rest of them ****, so with this next part, I am just telling you what I do and not pushing you in any direction.... I keep...

Pressure bleeder for new GMs (and maybe others)

So most of the bleeds I do are for performance stuff with performance fluid $$, so I basically *never* fill the Motive/Mityvac with fluid itself and just use the air to push it through. The cheapest fluid we sell is $12 bottle and some of them are $80+, no way I can waste extra bottles...

    Balancing wheels with aluminum rims?

You can cone most aluminum wheels from the front too. DaveW

Tire wobble visible on wheel balancer common?

Yeah, they all move a little. Nothing to worry about unless you are getting a vibration. I wish there was a set amount I could tell you that is good/no good, but it's like that old quote - I know it when I see it :) DaveW

    Chinese lug-centric wheel balancer adapters?

Yep, that would trigger me too. Report back on the ram wheels if you think of it. DaveW

    Chinese lug-centric wheel balancer adapters?

How much are they changing? If it's small, remember that there is rounding happening on the machine. EG if it is .12 oz out, it will show Zero. Spin it again and it comes up .13, it shows a 1/4 oz. I can't remember the exact GM wheels that were an issue. Maybe Mid-late 2010's but only...

    Lending Tools...Yes or No?

Yea, IMO, you don't have to be super blunt about it and cause a family issue, but IMO the fact that he presumed you were willing kind of tells me that he doesn't respect tools the way that people here, or people who make their living with them do. I didn't respect my dad's tools as a teenager...

    Chinese lug-centric wheel balancer adapters?

I am not sure if these are designed this way, but you actually use the Hunter ones from the front of the wheel. You put a cone on the back (smaller than usual) to kind of hold the wheel in the ballpark, then the adapter goes from the front and pushes down on the lug holes. That is (maybe) why...

Are all TPMS Sensor the Same

It depends on the sensor and the car. Most of the name brand sensors (Autel, Shrader, Huf, etc) have dual frequency, or at least single frequency sensors that you can program for a specific vehicle. However, it is not 100%. Autel wouldn't work on Mazda's around 2019 when they started...
