    Gas vs battery lawnmowers

I have a 1.5 acre and just sold my Honda self propelled mower and went with a Toro 22 inch personal pace 60volt recycler mower. I use it strictly for trimming. I love it. My yard is hilly and it’s much lighter than the Honda. It’s much more quiet and cuts better. I use between 1/2-3/4 of the...

Need some help troubleshooting a gas pressure washer

Side note cleaning those jets. The holes are very small and hard to see. You may need to get a metal brush and pull one of the strands off to poke through the holes.

Need some help troubleshooting a gas pressure washer

I would just leave it disabled. I have a Subaru engine on my Ridgid 3000 psi pw. I have a manual throttle, but I pretty much leave it at full throttle except when I start it.

Irwin vs dewalt tigger type clamps

I have both. I have an assortment of Irwin. They work great for me. I needed a few extra larger clamps and the local hd only had the dewalt in stock. The dewalt once’s seem a bit more durable, but they were fairly expensive.

Generator Reliability - Engine vs the Electrical

It’s fairly loud. It has a Briggs 18hp vanguard twin cylinder engine. It has a big muffler, but it’s not Honda quiet.

Generator Reliability - Engine vs the Electrical

I have a Briggs Elite 10000 watt portable. Only issue I have is with the idle control. It will not increase rpms when it senses a load. It will return to idle once there is no load, but not the other way around. I’ve replaced components and it still doesn’t work correctly. The only thing I...

Small Engine Storage - engine oil?

I would keep the oil in it. If your going to store it in a moist environment fog the cylinder. Wouldn’t hurt to pull the cord and rotate the engine once in a while if you store it long term. It probably wouldn’t hurt to run some pump saver or RV antifreeze through the water pump.

    The DeWalt Addiction Thread

The extra battery makes it a great deal. I watched a video of a guy using the 998 cordless hammer drill with a 5ah, a 9ah flexvolt, and the 8ah battery. He was using a large spade bit and drilling through a 4x4 post. The drill did the best with the 8ah. With the 5ah battery the drill...

    Firewood Splitting Axe Suggestions?

Another vote for the Fiskars x27. Just keep the edge sharp. I bought their sharper as well. I've split some decent size Oak with it.

    The DeWalt Addiction Thread

I just purchased the new DeWalt cordless hammer drill model number 998. If you buy a DeWalt power detect tool from Lowes between now and 7/8/20, Lowes will through in an additional 8an battery. So if you buy the DCD998W1 kit which includes the drill, charger, and 1 8ah battery, Lowes will...

    Quick Oscillating Multi-Tool Recommdation

I have a Bosch I think its a 2.5amp corded one. It was one of the first models Bosch made. Bosch blades are kind of expensive though and I need to find better metal cutting ones. Other than that, it great. I like the triangle sanding attachment the best.

Dewalt brushless impact wrench and grinder

I have the Dewalt mid torque impact. Not the most powerful, but most of the time you don’t need 700lb ft of torque either. It’s fairly small and I like the fit in my hand. I’d buy it again if I didn’t have one. I’ve been eyeing the more powerful one, but I have an air compressor and 1/2...

Parts washer: How do you clean your tools

I don’t think I’ve ever cleaned my hands tools other than wiping them down with blue shop rags. If the black oxide is scratched up I hit them with wd40.

    Let's See Your Chainsaws

I love my 361. It’s my favorite saw. I agree with a 20 inch solid bar it does get a little heavy for limbing branches. I use my ms250 for that, but I thought about going to a two plan. I’m debating selling my ms 250 and 361 to get the 261. I’ll keep my 046 for really big stuff.

    Cordless string trimmer recommendations wanted

I used my dads Ryobi 18v. It’s nice, but light duty. It’s fine if you just need to trim grass around your house. I didn’t like how every time I turn it on it seemed to automatically extend the trimmer line even if it didn’t really need it. My dads trimmer wouldn’t cut it for me. My yard is...

Buying a tool for ONE job then never using it again?

I have a couple tools I bought and never used or used once or twice. The first tool I bought and never used was a Astro front bearing pulled and installer. I don’t own a vehicle I would need it for, but I wanted it. The second was a trans jack adapter from HF. This one fits a normal jack...

    Corded vs Cordless

I would go with corded for the table saw, router, miter, and possibly the circ saw. My router is 2.5hp and can when it’s mounted in my router table replacing batteries often would annoy me. Once your table saw and miter are set up, you don’t have to worry about batteries running out during your...

    Lock N Lube

I just ordered one. I absolutely hated greasing up my tractor especially the front wheels because the coupler kept coming off. I have one fitting that no matter how hard I push to hold the coupler on, half the grease comes out. I can't wait to try this thing.
