oil filter wrench set (cup style)

Im a DIY guy and found that the the cups only fit certain filters. Some filters have more flutes at the bottom. So the cup may fit a purolator filter, it may not fit a ac delco even if it’s for the same car. I found a couple cups that fit the filter I use on my tractor and my Camaro. For the...

Do any cordless impact wrenches have any torque control?

My DeWalt mid torque cordless has a setting where it will tighten a bolt (a little more than finger tight) and stop before starts hammering and applies torque. If you continue to hold the trigger it starts hammering until you release the trigger.

Looking for a pneumatic 1/2" impact

I have one of the regular HF earthquake1/2 guns too. I got mine about 7 years ago. I don't use it often, but I have the same experience. I find it pretty powerful for its size. I use mine on a craftsman 150psi 30gal compressor with 6.5scfm at 90psi. Most of the time I use my craftsman...

Chainsaw recommendations after Oklahoma Ice Storm

OP, I think Stihl or Husky, possible Echo would be decent. What size trees are you cutting? I could recommend a Stihl ms362, but if your cutting 10-12inch diameter trees that saw is overkill.

    Astro Pneumatic Tool Company

I just used mine this past weekend to remove the rear rotors on my wife's Acadia. I had to bend the splash shield out of the way. I ended up needing the ebrake shoes and hardware as well because it was so rusty. The last time I did this job, I didn't have the tool and it was a monster pita to...

    Jig saw recommendations?

Years back when I bought my jig saw, I wanted a Bosch but ended up getting a DeWalt because it was in stock and at a price I was willing to pay. I don't use one that often, but I wanted decent saw. The DeWalt is a good tool, but in my opinion the Bosch is a better tool.

    Pencil Sharpener

I bought a 8 hole manual pencil sharpener and mounted it to the wall. I bought it at Staples and its their own brand. Its similar to the xacto ones posted here. It makes a point so sharp, its great. My kids use it all the time.

What Battery-Powered Chain Saw Should I Buy?

What is occasional use? Once a year or once a month etc? What size wood would you be cutting? Anything over 12 inches I wouldn't bother with a cordless saw. Any of the ones mentioned can handle small limbs. If your cutting 8-12inch I would look at the Stihl msa220. Its probably the most...

Snowblower 2020 edition - simplicity ariens etc ?

Congratulations. What model did you get?

    Air compressor decision.

I wouldn’t bother with the first one. I have a 30 gal. Craftsman Oil less with around 6.5scfm at 90. My die grinder depletes it rather quickly and so can my impact if I run it long enough, so I could image that it would be useless with a sand blaster or high volume low pressure spray gun. The...

    Choosing nail guns...

I have porter cable guns. I have the framing, the 15 gauge angled finish nailed and a smaller brad nailer. I don’t do much stapling, so I used a hand stapler. The angled finish nailed helps get into tight places and the brad shoots small nails which is great for small thin trim. I haven’t had...

Strut spring compressor, not Wall mounted...

I have that one. I’ve used it on all my cars and my wife’s acadia. I won’t use it on my Silverado. The springs are too big and stiff for that. I paid a shop to change the front shocks on my truck.

Snowblower 2020 edition - simplicity ariens etc ?

I sold my 2002 Ariens 24 8hp Classic Deluxe a few years back after I hit a huge rock that was plowed into the end of my driveway. It stopped the engine cold. At the end of the season, I heard a rod knock so I sold it as needing engine work. I still got $250 for it. I ended up getting a Ariens...

    Dewalt Impact - Picked DCF894B

I have the 894. I use it much more often than I thought because of the power and size. I was going to get the bigger 899, but its size limits the use for me. I have a couple air powered impacts. A craftsman 1/2 impact with with 450 of torque and the HF earthquake with 750-800ft. I Figured...

    Hammer drill suggestions

I just bought a DeWalt 998 power detect hammer drill kit with 8ah battery and charger. I got it at Lowes and came with a second 8ah battery for free during the promotion. The drill has a lot of power and can drill brick or concrete blocks with ease. I used it to drill into my garage floor at...

I hate home depot, done shopping there.

I was just going to say that and the big wood working clamps are near the miter saws in the tool area. I like going to the HD. Service has gone downhill in every industry so I learn as much as I can on my own. Most companies have gone from caring about the employees to focusing only on...

    Stihl chain question

I was able to get a yellow chain for my ms250 at the dealer. I think you saw has the PM3 chain. You should be able to upgrade to the RM or RSK chain, but you need to verify pitch and gauge. The chain that comes on the 250, Stihl used to call the RMC safety chain( I think its called RM3 now)...

    The DeWalt Addiction Thread

I bought one last winter. I use it a ton and its fairly accurate with the automatic shut off. I can't live without it now. The high volume nozzle is great for blowing up large floats etc as well. Before I bought it, I purchased a small 2 gallon air compressor just for tires because I got...
