    Let's See Your Garage Dog

This is my ole pal Hershey. He passed away three years ago after 15 years of being a true friend. Only recently did I feel like I wanted to get another dog so a few weeks ago, Boudreaux came home with me. He's off to a pretty good start.

    Drill Presses and Homeowners

I have a large Jet DP but then I do a lot of woodworking and wood turning. IMO you don't really need one unless you have a real use case that makes you use it regularly. However I totally understand the desire to have one for even occasional use. IMO most bench top DPs off Craigslist are the...

    Toolboxes

This... but it also is somewhat dependent on your use case. If this is a professional shop and your toolbox is going to be moved around regularly, then I think toolboxes in the SnapOn class are the only way to go. But if it will be in your home shop/garage and won't be moved around much, then...

    custom light switch covers

I think the key isn't the cutting device but supporting the material from underneath. A piece of pine gives way to much but then anything solid like a metal block can damage your cutting blade. Next time, I'll use hard maple.. :)

Looking forward to it. It is always an awesome game.... I only wish I could be there but I'll settle for the Saint/Cowboys later that month.

    custom light switch covers

The issue there is using a chisel or a corner punch to cut the squares out. Even when backing it up with a board, the metal is going to be impressed from the cut. Even then, I speculate the paint will crack and flake off if not supported by something like tape. Perhaps someone has a better...

    custom light switch covers

OH, a quick lesson's learnt.. That painters tape is sticky enough to pull the paint off the sign. I suggest trying plain ole masking tape.

    custom light switch covers

I'm sure someone has thought of this before but I thought some of you would like this idea if you had not seen it. Props to my wife for giving me the thought to do this. I was looking for garage/workshop oriented switch covers. My wife had given me one that she bought at Hobby Lobby and...

    HOA Advice

Here is my advice.. 1. Pay your dues. You do not want that fight because you are guaranteed to lose and lose big. 2. I didn't see what State this is occurring in. Find out your state laws on HOAs. Many states have regulatory boards that have nothing better to do than to screw with your...

    watch your stuff!!!

I just put locks on everything this week (new house). A group of surveyors came through my backyard without asking permission. They had no ill intent but they scared the **** out of my wife and I ended up coming out there with my pistol. My two dogs almost got out as well. They were not...

    Another noobie from Denton, TX

Howdy folks. I've been lurking on the board for a few months but decided it is time to get a bit more involved. My wife and I sold our old starter home and upgraded to 2400+ square foot home on one acre in Denton. The garage isn't huge but it is still quite a bit larger than my old one. That...
