What did you do "IN" your garage today?

I've lived in this house for a long time, but never really did anything with the garage situation. Mostly because I work in a garage all day, and the last thing I want to do is come home and work in it! Well, I decided to make a few changes. Here's where I started. Everything was a mess...

    Most innovative tools?

I have the Mayhew tie rod tool, the one that looks like a stud remover. It works marvelously, most of the time. There are a few that are a little too small for it, and it acts like it wants to work, but doesn't grab. I haven't had any that are too big for it yet. I did do a (Subaru...

So Matco is backordered on all ratchets

I just tweeted at them, "@matcotools Maaaaaaaaaaan, when are ratchets coming in? It's been like 6 months since mine broke." In the past they've always responded (like when we didn't have a rep, but had broken tools), but hasn't always gotten anything done.

So Matco is backordered on all ratchets

My Matco guy says they're going to be ADV ratchets when they come in. Mine's been backordered since like November.

    Can't bring toolbox to work?

Over the years, I've found some junk screwdrivers and socket/ratchet sets in used car trade ins. I put them on a little shelf for salesmen/detailers/lot porters and such when they need one.

    Brake Pad Spreader

I've used them a lot for a lot of vehicles, and the only time I've seen one bend? Someone was pressing the brake pedal with the vehicle running.

    Brake Pad Spreader

You mean 8 pistons total or per side?! I'm guessing 4 pistons per side. I have one of these, and it works on almost everything. The only time it doesn't work for me is when I don't spread them with a prybar/screwdriver beforehand, or super tiny rears and I can push them in with my thumbs.

    Show your new tool arrivals

I saw this post the other day, and was looking at their site a bit. Then I was on the Cornwell truck yesterday looking at his hammers. I thought they looked suspiciously similar. They even had the flag sticker on them. I asked him if they were made by Trusty Cook, so he looked them up. Sure...

I finally have the perfect pocket screwdriver holder!!

I thought it was going to be the side of a vehicle, or the edge of a door frame. That's where my pocket screwdrivers always end up! Stupid magnets.

    Let's see your toolbox.

Well, retail on the Classic 96 is currently 6100ish, I'm not sure what it was 4 years ago when I bought it. I think it was about 5600 or 5800. He gave me a good trade on my old box, a KRL from before they were 29" deep (it was like a 2001 that had a hard life, basically a Classic 78 with...

    Let's see your toolbox.

It was about $5800 shipped. Cheaper than my old Classic 96 was, and is deeper, taller, and with a hutch and stainless top (2 tops, actually)

    Let's see your toolbox.

I like it a lot. My only real complaint is that the drawer slides are a little stiff, but I think they're loosening up. The more commonly used drawers are sliding easier than the others. Other than that, I'm in love with it. Ample storage and height. The shelf is a great place to put all of...

    Let's see your toolbox.

I like it too, I like how the chrome rail thing goes top to bottom, but on Snap On's, it's broken up by the stainless top, and it's set back and not flush with the front of the roll cab. Plus, you can see the screws inside of the hutch on the Snap on! Ugh!

    Let's see your toolbox.

Got some lights set up finally! I was having trouble finding a way to rout wires so they didn't hang down when I opened the door, but were long enough to reach the door when closed (and didn't pull the wires loose or lights off), so I mounted them to the ceiling! As I open the door, it pulls...

    12 volt makita or Milwaukee

M12 has a ton of tools that use their batteries, Makita only has a few. Makita 12v 1/4" has like 800 inch pounds, compared to the M12 Fuel at 1,200 inch pounds. That's what sold me on the M12.
