    Borrowing tools

We have written policy. If you've borrowed a tool 3 times, you need to buy it. I have an unwritten policy. If you aren't buying tools, expanding your collection... you're not borrowing my tools. Gotta pay to play.

    12 point bolt heads - non-aerospace applications

Yeah boy. Sunex makes a 12pt 12mm swivel socket specifically for this application. It works like a charm.

    Toolbox hutch lighting switch

From what I've read, those pogo pin connectors aren't meant to transfer power, only a signal, or instantaneous or something. There's also not much travel in them, and there's a bit of slop for the door while it's at the top (I could always drill a new hole and a new plug thing for the stops to...

    Toolbox hutch lighting switch

I have plenty of LEDs, I got 8 20" strips in aluminum housings for $25, and I have a power supply. I also have some 5 amp limit switches, which I planned to use to turn it on if I didn't find something like the Snap On setup, but the inside of the hutch (and all of my ****) doesn't leave me...

    Wasted money on tools

I just like tools. I like to collect them, I like to fill my box, I like to buy a bigger box. Really, I just figure, if you're doing this professionally, you just have to keep buying. You can't be sitting around with a job in the bay waiting for a tool to come. Have to be prepared. I have...

    Toolbox hutch lighting switch

So my work neighbor has the Snap On KEWLED setup in his hutch. He was able to talk the dealer into it for cheap when he bought his box. I didn't want to spend that kind of cheddar, and didn't buy my box from him, so I'm looking for a cheaper alternative. I took some pictures of the "switch"...

    Riser/Hutch Lighting

Bit of an old thread, but not too bad so I'm not sorry for it. But this is what the Snap On KEWLED setup uses: http://i.imgur.com/DJNkD9t.jpg Power comes from the power supply, to the black box, then through the tabs and springs to those contact plates. When open, the plates contact the pads...

    HF "pro" breaker bar ?

Yeah, I have the ratchet and it flops constantly. I slid a wave washer in and it slowed it down a bit, but not too much!

Noise filter for 12v stereo system

Is this something I can build myself, like is it as simple as an inline capacitor to normalize it or something?

Noise filter for 12v stereo system

So I bought this power supply to run a car stereo in my toolbox. Before I bought it, I emailed Jameco if it would work, he said I don't really know what he means by filtering circuit or noise filter, so I though I'd ask here. Everything works pretty well, but there's a little static through...

Snap-on Inc. is now majority owned by Harbor Freight Co.

I feel like that's been the case for a while, Snap On and HF's quality seems to be equalizing.

    Let's see your toolbox.

It came with a knockout so I didn't have to do any cutting, but I already had the stereo laying around. I use it with this power supply. It's bluetooth too, so I don't even have an aux cord to play music off of my laptop!

Just got some new digs! Still working on a lighting solution though.

Habor Freight vs Snap On Torque wrench calibration check

Or Hyundai/Kia, they had a class action suit for posting internal MPG ratings on their window stickers.

Every time I see them, I can't help but worry about walking by and breaking off a USB cord in the front port.

    Boroscope, videoscope, endoscope... educate me

I got one of those for Christmas, a BlueFire brand. It doesn't work at all with my Galaxy S5 (though it should), the instructions are just 1 page, the seller is of no help, and returning a gift on amazon is just a pain without asking for an order number.

That is, like, the tiniest and sidewaysist picture ever. Is that an Epiq?

    Does anybody have this cart?

I have that cart from like, 10 years ago. Doesn't look like it's changed much. The wheels are pretty stiff, but I don't roll it around much. Mine doesn't have any sort of latching mechanism except for the lock, so I pretty much have to leave the key in it if I move it, and use the lock to...

    Let's see your toolbox.

I had a KRL761bpev, purple. Never see purple. Even googling for the number there's no results. I found it on craigslist in 2006 for $1300. I used it for 5 years, and traded it in at the end of 2011. Snap on dealer gave me $3900.

Lets see your Tool Carts/Service Carts

Oh dang, I used to work with a guy with a 40" bluepoint like that. I forgot all about that box, it was so unique with the blue trim!
