84 tooth vs. 90 tooth ratchet

I don't have the 90t ratchets but I have the 84t and a few 120xp. For my needs I don't need a smaller swing arc than what 84t provides. I'd rather have a more compact/thinner ratchet head. I don't really use my 120xp ratchets because the 84t are slightly thinner. It's a small difference but on...

I have a similar one from Channellock that look similar and work very well, I wonder if they're made in the same plant?

What are those TC hammers selling for? I don't see them on their website.

    The Harbor Freight PASS/FAIL Thread...

Braun 4 ft. LED Shop Light 64410 - PASS These have probably been mentioned before but they are great lights and often on sale for $20 each. Even at full price they are worth every cent, I wish I bought these a long time ago. You have no idea how bad your garage lighting is until you have good...

Milwaukee M18 stubby mid torque impact wrench??

I don't think we'll see one since they will have to accept the M18 battery which is bulk/wide. I think we'll see improvements in the M12 stubby performance before we see an M18 stubby.

Milwaukee M12 Stubby, M18 Mid Torque, and M18 High Torque Size Comparison

I also bought the stubby and mid for a crusty E30 project. Best money I’ve spent on tools since I first bought flex head ratchets. I can’t imagine working without these two now. I just did a front brake replacement on my wife’s car and saved so much time with these tools. I recommend the stubby...

Another vote for Ersnt. The work great for my Wright wrenches and the rails are made in USA.

Tools you wish you had known about before you did it the hard way

Milwaukee M12 3/8 Stubby Impact was a huge game changer. Cordless impacts in general are a game changer. I've have a harbor freight 1/2" impact for a few years now but never had the space for anything other than a tiny compressor so I wasn't getting any benefit from the tool. My (hobby)...

Value of 7" 1/2 HP Craftsman Block Grinder?

Got some steel bushings to get the 7” Weiler wire wheel on. Should I shim the wheel with washers? Some of the wires are contacting the case. Is this something to be concerned about or normal?

Milwaukee fuel 1/2" Mid torque VS High Torque usability

I got the manifolds off but had to cut one of the nuts off with a grinder. A few studs are still stuck in the head so I ordered an extractor from Amazon to try and get them out. It's going to be a great car when it's all finished but it's been sitting/rotting for 12 years so just about...

    Snap ring plier size size

I just bought this set and I'm very happy with it so far. I don't use snap ring pliers a lot but I think these will serve my needs very well.

Value of 7" 1/2 HP Craftsman Block Grinder?

Thanks for the input everyone. I'm hopeful it will provide years of service. Most every wire wheel I've found for it is a 5/8" arbor, can anyone recommend how to convert the 1/2" arbor to 5/8"? I'm assuming there are bushings so different sized wheels can be used, or is it best to replace the shaft?

    DIYer automotive tool brand/quality?

Like others have said I don't think there is one brand to rule them all. I love my Gearwrench ratchets and sockets, Wright combination wrenches, Trusty Cook Hammers, Harbor Freight breaker bar, Gearwrench hose picks, Milwaukee electric impacts, VIM torx set, Bondhus allen wrenches, Channellock...

Value of 7" 1/2 HP Craftsman Block Grinder?

Hopefully the pictures attached correctly. I’m still happy with the purchase and I’ve removed one of the stones to replace with a wire wheel, I just need to figure out the arbor size. Going to pick up a 7" Weiler from Amazon soon. Edit: I'm an idiot - The arbor size is right on the front plate!

Milwaukee fuel 1/2" Mid torque VS High Torque usability

I've been happy with my 3/8 M12 stubby doing a lot of work on an '89 325i. Works really well getting into tight places, I'm hoping to pull the exhaust manifolds this week. The top 6 nuts/studs came out easily with the M12, now I just need to get clever with extensions an swivel sockets to get...

Smaller milwaukee impact to compliment the high torque

I have the M12 3/8 stubby and I really like it. So far it’s been plenty powerful removing exhaust manifold studs/nuts, drive shaft bolts, valve cover bolts, and tons of other stuff. I think it’s pretty powerful especially for its size. I bought a Sunex 3/8 impact “master” set for it and it’s...

    Trusty-Cook, Stubby's Cousin

Looking forward to picking one of these up when they're for sale. My TC ball peen and dead blow will be used a lot next week when I tear apart the suspension on a 30 year old BMW for overhaul. Love my TC hammers!

    quick release ratchet or not?

When I was researching ratchets I chose non QD to keep the thickness down. I've had a few experiences where the slightly thinner head made all the difference. I'm also not a pro so it doesn't bother me if it takes a few seconds longer to change sockets since I'm not doing it for 8+ hours per day.
