    Ratchet and Socket Drawer.

Good to know from a professional mechanic. I could move all the sockets to socket rails and possibly get all the impact sockets in there, but the drawer would be very heavy. The impacts are in blow molded cases and not in the tool box as I don't use them much since I don't work on cars for a...

    Ratchet and Socket Drawer.

I couldn't justify spending $5,000 on a SnapOn box and thousands on their sockets. The Husky box I have is a very nice box, especially for the price. It's heavier gauge steal and the drawers are very smooth and have an auto close feature. A socket is a socket, but I didn't want cheap...

    Ratchet and Socket Drawer.

The tools in this box are fairly new and don't get a lot of use. I do use them, but nothing like a full-time grease monkey. And the other poster is correct, I like collecting tools, so more of a collector and occasional user. I just wanted to have a nice collection of tools and what I need to...

    Inflater

Good idea, but it was mainly just recommending an inflator. Makita does make some good tools, but I'm not necessarily addicted to them. But I do have a lot of Makita power tools - too long to list.

    Inflater

Mine is the Makita DMP180ZX and I bought it 2 years ago. I just saw it on Amazon for $100. Looks like they came out with a new model - DMP181ZX that is more powerful - damn! The one I have is 120psi max and the newer model is 160psi max. The newer model is $152.

    Inflater

I have had this Makita tire inflater for a while and wanted to recommend it. It has been fantastic for topping off all our tires. So small and convenient and I used an 18V Makita battery that I had for some other power tools. This is not for filling up a flat tire - I would use a bigger air...

    Hand Truck/Cart Combo

Bought this Magliner hand truck and thought it could be useful. It's a Gemini Jr. The Senior version is a bit longer. I can use it as a hand truck, and it converts into a 4-wheel cart. Magliner makes some of the best hand trucks. It was kind of expensive, but very well made and versatile...

    Ratchet and Socket Drawer.

Huge selection and very well organized. I typically only see mechanics that have this many sockets. I have my impact socket sets still in their cases on the shelf. To get those in the drawer, I would need to take out the cases and go with the socket trays or racks to get all of them upright.

Wow, I thought I had a lot of ratchets and sockets.

    Ratchet and Socket Drawer.

I like the SnapOn ratchets the best, with GearWrench second. But for the money, Dewalt makes a nice rachet and they are very comfortable in the hand. When I change the oil, I always seem to grab the Dewalt 1/2" - it feels great in the hand, it's beefy and I can get good leverage. A higher...

    Ratchet and Socket Drawer.

Yes, you are right. I kept some of the GearWrench and Dewalt blow molded cases to keep the sockets and ratchets organized in, but I suppose I could put them upright in socket racks. I don't have my impact sets in the box - left those in the cases on the shelf - very heavy. Just have the swivel...

    Ratchet and Socket Drawer.

It's a 52" Husky heavy duty box. Great box for the money. I didn't want to pay $4-$5,000 for a SnapOn.

Yes, I am out of space in this box and need another one if I want to add on more.

    Ratchet and Socket Drawer.

Very good. Yes, it came with a 1/2" SK socket set I bought in 1976 while in college and looks brand new. I found it tucked away in the original green metal case and moved it into the socket drawer. The is when SK was one of the best tool makers.

    Ratchet and Socket Drawer.

I finished the ratchet and socket drawer and have more than I need, but it's always fun collecting tools. Like some others, I have an unhealthy addiction to buying tools. I have some SnapOn ratchets, but most of the sockets aren't SnapOn - they are just too expensive. I think GearWrench makes...

Portable Wood Vise and Homemade Worktable

The portable workbench I made that uses the sawhorses has zero wobble. It is as solid as a rock. I agree on the Workmate, which is why I would want a heavy woodworking bench for the larger projects. The one I am looking at weighs close to 300 lbs. You want a thick top and big vices. But the...

Portable Wood Vise and Homemade Worktable

Yes, that is one use for it. But you can't do big boards on this - it's for smaller projects. I am looking at getting a Sjoberg Elite 2000 workbench which would handle planning on boards. I also have a Workmate 425 and I think you secure a board on it with the bench dogs and plane. This would...

Portable Wood Vise and Homemade Worktable

This is a new tool addition. Got at Sjoberg Smart Workstation Pro that I can clamp on to my potable workbench for woodworking. After clamping it the whole thing is as solid as a rock. The portable bench setup is two Toughbuilt G700 metal sawhourses. These have some open slots and clamps that...

    2022: Best Mitre Saw?

I have the Makita LS 1219 dual-bevel on the Makita rolling stand. It's a fantastic saw, but heavy. I replaced the small wheels with 10" pneumatic wheels and 5/8" axle for better transporting. The standard wheels are a joke and it will topple on you if you have the saw on the stand and...
