I would run conduit from inlet to panel which would enable you to use individual #6 conductors for hot and neutral and #10 for ground. this will save you some money on wire

whats the HP rating on the motor? looks like NM in FMC? what a poor choice.... whats the gauge on the NM wire?

the switch should be rated for 240v (277vac) as it can see 240v thru both sides of the coil.

in a meter main with bolt on bus bars? less likely...

I doubt youre gonna find a 200a rated main panel with a 100a breaker in it.

direct short to what? if theyre all on the same circuit, the only way there would be a short is if someone wired a neutral or ground to one of the switch terminals
