    Bolt starting tool

The knob in the lower corner of the photo turns the shaft inside the sleeve (2nd knob) with the 1/4" drive at the end of the flexible tip. I don't know if it had a specific purpose. Will see who else weights in. It has Blue Point USA on the end.

Check your local fire department.....some of the folks may still have some of the older steel air pack and oxy. cylinders. They make great chimes. I will get a picture for ya, a local fella makes asst. chimes from old cylinders. He has one using an "M" size welding cyl. It's huge!

    Lets see your workbench

I resurrected an old steel bench frame, the top was shot. I had 2 sheets of OSB. Cut 36 x 72 and laminated 3 layers with glue/screws. Topped it with a piece of 3/4" horse stall mat. Great solid surface, handles heavy car parts, and cleans well.

What is this wrench used for?

Spot on 3 bay... Here is a picture of the back side? It is used to adjust mechanical brakes on the 28-31 Model A, and 32-36 Fords. The long handle is a feature which gives leverage for turning the brake adjusting wedge which is under tension of the brake shoe springs. Other tool makers offered...

What is this wrench used for?

Thanks for pointing out my typo. Agreed there were lots of square head bolts used in days gone by but it has an intended purpose for those who are still guessing. My moniker will help to narrow it down.

    Show us your welding projects

Fender repair - 1950 Ford F1 Had a friend help me form the panels needed with a brake and shrinker/stretcher tool. I cut off 3" or so and welded in the new sections. Used a Miller 185 MIG with .023 wire. Used a hammer weld technique and finished with a little bit of filler. The new radius...

    Claussing Lathes

My mistake...shot from the hip.....I have a 5300 series. Nice job on the refurbishing. I dissasembled mine when I bought it to clean and lube. Replaced the cross feed nut and adjusted the ways. Still needs a couple of bushings replaced. Will do a complete dissassembly and paint in a year or so.
