Pre-Build Planning - Septic and Grade

As mentioned above, use a probe to define the edges of the tanks and where the lines enter and exit. Do it when the ground is soft to make it a bit easier. I don't know what the best thing to use for a probe would be, but a long, thin, metal rod would do the trick. There's also this...

Yet another 2-post concrete anchor question

Just use the mechanical non-epoxy anchors. When you drill the holes make sure to go completely through the concrete. When you remove the lift, pound the anchors through the concrete and fill the holes. Fairly straight forward and easy.

ALI certified vs non certified lifts...

I went certified with a Dannmar D10-CX which is ALI certified. Just an added level of comfort for me. In hindsight, if I were buying from a reputable company like Derek Weaver or Atlas and the lift was what I wanted, I probably wouldn't bother with limiting myself to a certified lift. I would...

Penetrating Sealer vs Densifier + Penetrating Sealer

Thanks for all the input. It sounds like I don't need to seal the concrete, but I may still go with something like HD39 or PS102 just to aid in cleanup of spills etc.

Penetrating Sealer vs Densifier + Penetrating Sealer

So, I've got a 30x60 outbuilding with a concrete floor. I use my shop as a hobbyist for automotive work and general projects that come with the 20 acre place it's on. The building was there when I bought the property, and apparently, the concrete was poured without a moisture barrier...

    Driveway cracks... fill or not?

HF weed cooker has worked well for me for the 3-4 years I've owned it.

    Dannmar 10acx owners

I have the 10 cx. The arms are plenty long enough to lift smaller cars even with the additional width. I doubt the acx would be any different.

    Workbench top suggestions

If you're not going to weld, then just buy inexpensive countertop material. I recently build a 10 foot long workbench and the top was black countertop material with a built in backsplash. It was only about $60 for the top at Menards. Makes for a very clean and tidy workbench.

Which two post lift to buy

I like my Dannmar D10-CX. It's a bendpak clone. Dannmar bought the rights to use the bendpak design. The only difference is two stage lift arms instead of three stage and no spin up pads. You have to use the adapter extensions that are included with the lift. So, you give up a little...

One man's garage project from Finland..

Great to see a couple of guys from Suomi here on the forum. As I mentioned in Mikkeli's garage build post, ma asuin suomessa kaksi vuotta. But I haven't been back in over 20 years. I still plan to return to visit some time and think you guys are pretty lucky to live there.

Tankless Water heaters, yeah or nah?

We love our tankless LP water heater - particularly with 3 teenagers and a wife that likes hot baths. We would never go back to a tank. Zero maintenance issues either. From a cost and efficiency standpoint, it ends up being enough of a wash either way that the lifestyle choice should drive...

    Barn to Shop project.

I got a Dannmar D10-CX. I chose it because it was one of the least expensive certified lifts. Dannmar bought the rights to use a Bend Pak design. So, it's a clone of a more expensive Bend Pak (XPR 10S). The only difference is two stage arms vs three stage arms with screw up pads. Otherwise...

LED conversion wiring and bulbs and . . . Huh?

Check amazon for the toggled bulbs. The prices fluctuate, and I was able to pick some up for $8/bulb last month.

    Barn to Shop project.

What city are you closest to? I'm in Ottawa, KS area. I'll have to post my shop sometime. We bought 20 acres that already had a house and 30x60 shop on it. I've since added a 2 post lift and a bunch of lighting. I also like to work on German cars - mostly Bimmers though.

How NOT too loose nuts and bolts when rebuilding equipment/how to keep organized?

Take lots of pics too. With a smartphone at my side, I find myself taking lots of pictures for reference as I take things apart. I usually don't need them, but when I do, I'm glad I have them.

    Two post lift. So confused?

The pins stick out of the bottom of the arms a few inches. So, as the arms reach the ground, the pins are automatically pushed upwards disengaging them. They are therefore automatically engaged when the arms are raised.

    Two post lift. So confused?

I like my Dannmar D10-CX. It’s a clone of one of the bendpak lifts and is a quality, certified lift that’s on the low price end for 10k lifts.

    Inground Lift

You're right. My view of it was off by 90 degrees. Thanks for the correction. There wouldn't be any obstruction by driving between them rather than over them.
