    Hymo scissor lift/table

Have you checked to see if 1000kg is it's true limit or if it is just it's rating? Last place I worked, I had to replace a few scissor lifts because we were lifting twice the rated capacity on a daily basis, and the metal cracked and gave way over time.

    Crescent wrench directional arrow

You need this special model. It was made as a joke for one of the mechanics at the factory I work at, but he used it everyday!

Question about contractor etiquette (offering to pay a contractor for a quote)

30 years ago while in college, I ran a lawn spraying service. Think 100's of customers for smaller $ jobs. We were constantly doing quotes. One hot day, I got convinced to do one last quote on a large lawn. The homeowner was a bit of a pain and asked a ton of questions, but I maintained my...

Myster rivet nut...what the heck is this thing???

Jkeyser, Infinkc, & Dustball are all describing a similar nut that I also believe is what you are looking for. Dustball, if you look at this link from Jkeysers post you almost duplicated the factory drawing. https://www.pemnet.com/fastening_products/pdf/bdata.pdf You are right that, Penn...

    Large 72”x24” Window Replacement

It's not that odd of a size. Andersen has standard awnings that are that size. You can do it in a single (A61), double (A231) or triple (A321) configuration. Home depot or a window dealer can order these for you...

    230v 5HP Compressor Plug/Receptacle

Whoops!! you are right, I just looked for "30 Amp" and didn't read the entire description. Does that mean any more than 3 HP draws more than 30 Amp?

    230v 5HP Compressor Plug/Receptacle

Here's a 30amp plug from Grainger that should work on your 30Amp circuit. Not cheap, but there are probably cheaper sources out there. They have the outlets also...

    Maximum workbench depth ?

Mine is 36" deep and I see no negatives to the depth. I can easily reach to the back of it when needed and I can reach everything on the pegboard up to about 6' high. I like having room to store "stuff" at the back of the bench. I would build to the material that I had on hand...for you, build...

Buying just the bins for harbor freight storage cases?

There was some discussion on the big rack thread for these but I don't remember the outcome. https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=289281 I ended up with a bunch of extras once I added bolts longer than 3" or added tools that go with the stuff in the bins.

    Attic insulation soffit baffling

Looks like your trusses are on 24" centers and your pictures show a rafter vent made for 16" on center. You can get 24" vents with a built in bend to cover the entire opening, but they are a bit pricey. Cheap way is to just get the plain 24" model and stuff the opening with unfaced fiberglass...

    three post snowmobile lift system

The problem comes from having a single cable on both sides of each end of the platform. There is nothing to keep one side from raising faster than the other side except having the platform perfectly balanced and the friction of the pulleys being perfect. If you imagine that the pulley hanging...

Using Schedule 40 Galvanized Pipe as frame for carport. Good idea or bad?

I store my boat on the side on the side of my garage in a 15' wide area. I needed a tall canopy for my boat, so I added a "lift kit" to the 12x20 Shelter Logic kit. The posts on one side are setting on a rail 2' off the ground that I added to my privacy fence. For the garage side, I didn't want...

    Long term Auto Parts Storage

I'm in a similar situation, but have no extra room indoors. Small parts will go in totes in the basement. Bigger parts like fenders, motor, & axles need to stay outside. My plan is to store everything on a trailer with a crate built around it. This way it is mobile enough that it won't be...
