Professional Mobile Mechanic Tools/ Side Work POST YOUR PICS

You need to avoid CL. I got lots of crappy calls aka, cheap customers. If it rains, put the car on the customers that have a empty garage or carport. Stay local if you have a large local population. Last week, I did two cars only 150 feet from my place :) Find the cars 5-7 years old and are...

max jacks mounted to mobile trailer

I have already seen that. To long of a car lift. I can imagine the cost of the aluminum would be pretty high. One other nice option of a car lift system, is round or rectagular side platform that would fold down sideways to give room for walking around the outside of the car for brakes and...

Are you chipper at work? Mabey a Zombie? or bad mood? Could be depression. I am like this. I get home. Not that motivated. The weather outside is ****. I have no garage. I work under my carport when its cold and raining outside. Not fun or comfortable. How is your motivation and mood when...

max jacks mounted to mobile trailer

I do mobile mechanical work. While I have taken a bit of a break from it due to weather, I thought of making as cheap as possible a trailer that can have the max jacks mounted to it. The trailer would be lowered to rest on the ground "possibly by liniar motors" and then, the car would drive up...

Id this truck jack. How Old approximatly?

Do American tool importers import this style of jack "approximately 3.5-4 feet long" into the US or Canada? If not, who would possibly make this? The seller says she cannot find a stamping or label, which suggest it is Chinese made. she is selling it for a good deal but..I cannot carry this...

    Snap-On Remote Patrol / E-Lock

Better to devise your own mechanical push button lock system. No worried of electrical failure of the device or the remote control..which happens to often.

Who said you can call snapon to see if solus pro paid off with S/N??

snapon credit said they did not have that ability. Even if so, they said it may be a privacy issue. I personally do not see it as a privacy issue if all I do is give them a serial number to ask if its paid off.

Who said you can call snapon to see if solus pro paid off with S/N??

I just called snapon and asked if a particular used snap on solus pro I want to buy is paid off based on its serial number and they said they do not do that. some one from this forum said you can see if a snap on solus pro is paid off based on its serial number. Any truth to this and maybe the...

What would I be missing if I buy solus over modis?

I have read there is a four channel scope on the modis. But nothing else that makes the modis especially stand out over a solus. On the other hand, I can get a Picoscope and that would be my scope or, a Vantage pro with its built in connector data base. right now, looking at all solus pros...

Self-protection When Buying Used Scan Tools

Hi all, I am looking at a really good deal on a solus pro 90th addition version. I have asked the seller to provide the serial number but snap on credit said they could not look it up. Would I call snap on dealer for his area? Do they need only the serial number? or the owners name, and...

    Snap on solus pro

I am looking for a solus pro 9.4 or above. I know there are people in this board that live in depressed US states where some auto shops may have closed. If you come across one, and its a good deal "please do not buy it" I am looking for one for my mobile mechanical business. Please email me...

    Advice on first multimeter

I used to work at Fluke. I can attest to there meters Flukes meters go though a battery of very tough test R&D test from Intense RF injection in a large Faraday cage, to subzero temperature testings to sand blasting. The meters are built tough. Also, because they are the best, Fluke has there...

Why are 6pt wrenches more expensive than 12pt?

I dont know the case, but every mechanic needs a set of six point sockets/wrenches for rusted nuts and bolts. 12 point will round them if thay are siezed. Six point will not round the nuts or bolts. BTW, I have not tried this yet. But can taking a hammer and whacking the head of a siezed bolt...

    In-floor Scissor Lift Install

nice thread. Make me jealous:) I stopped by one of the largest BMW dealerships in Vancouver and therefloods are all tile brick. It was very nice. My issue is cost of a house here in the lower mainland. Houses now are 300-600K in my area. Much to high to buy and right now, I would not care if I...
