    Which Hose Pick Set???

Snap on’s pick sets are made in USA and are top notch quality. https://shop.snapon.com/product/Radiator-and-Freeze-Plug-Tools/Radiator-Hose-Pick-Set-(Green)/SGA102BG

    Canada Only Deals!

Belt grinder attachment at PA. I have the multi tool version (original) and it’s one of my favourite tools. You’ll wonder how you put up with grinding on stone wheels and the ol “ angle grinder held upside down on the workbench trick” so long :)

Where to Buy Individual Williams Sockets

I’ve bought several USA Williams tools from these guys and they were great to deal with - in Canada (saves the ridiculous duties and shipping from states) https://www.industrial-tools.ca/

Tekton impact socket doesn't fit in Hansen socket tray

Drill the hole in the socket to fit the peg. Impacts are nice and soft. I’ve done this a few times and it’s very satisfying :)

    Stubby 1/4 bit sets.

The Vim 77 piece set has served me well:

Finally got em :). Pleasantly surprised they came to the great white north so quickly.

    Pry bar crobar storage?

I modified an air tool rack I had lying around (could easily make from angle iron)

    Must have Snap On items?

+1 on the instinct screwdrivers. They’re the best hands down (I bought PB Swiss and Vessel to compare). Ratchets, prybars (larger than 24”, handle too large on the smaller ones in my opinion), pick sets (small, large, o ring), rad hose picks, ratcheting screwdrivers (stubby and standard)...

    Quality Micrometer Brands?

The whole point of a mic is to get greater precision than a vernier (very-near :)) caliper. If you’re heading that way Id stick with quality stuff. I prefer North American manufactured products, but Mitutoyo has Starrett beat on mics, calipers and indicators so that would be my choice as well

    Pliers Organization

Thanks. I started with the zip ties as well. What I’m using here is just those Velcro cord organizers

    Pliers Organization

I am happiest with the Ernst pliers racks. All the same spacing so you can order/group pliers how they make sense to you and you’re not locked in. If you have some real skinny ones you can double up (I was able to do that with my Gedore circlip pliers).

    USA made 12pt sockets

Agreed. Price be dammed (to a reasonable extent!) there’s something about having your core hand tools being made on the same soil. When mine get passed onto my kids I hope they get the same use and feeling of pride from them that I do

I do the same thing. All sockets must fall into line in the Hansen peg order. :) Even Snap on. Only had to drill one (a 12mm 1/4 Dr. I believe). They aren’t kidding when they say they’re special alloy and heat treated. I dulled 3 bits (even with my usual copious rapid tap and low speed). Made...

    USA made 12pt sockets

They are not, good question. The all numbers part # are taiwan, and alpha numeric (letters and #s) are the USA. You can also tell by the necking down of the deep socket. The USA (close to clone of Snap on) necks right down to the base, and the taiwan go about mid way.

    I’d go Williams USA

Do these pliers look new to you?

+1 on that. I order a fair bit online. They sent me a pair of side cutters with a gouge in the grip. I sent them a photo of it and they shipped me new ones and told me to keep the old. Still disappointing, but I’ve never had a situation the didn’t immediately rectify

    Tools are too cheap?

That’s a really good point. I have bought almost all my Snap on hammers used for <50% of new (admittedly still expensive for a hammer). When in doubt make sure you have your safety glasses on with side shields!

    Tools are too cheap?

I’ve had cheap ball peen hammer faces chip off and it’s a risk for sure (threw them all out the next day). The other thing I find I really like about the Snap on DBBP’S is their ability to absorb the shock to your elbow and shoulder when swinging it all day. This is most helpful in the larger...

Is Snap On Flank Drive what I need?

Snap on does advertise the FDX as an everyday, but in actual use I found (and there are some other threads on here about it) the nuts/bolt heads get stuck in the damn things as the clearance is so tight. They are great for rounded or corroded fasteners, but in my experience a specialty socket...

Quality is remembered long after price is forgotten. Thinnest heads and best ratcheting wrenches by a long shot. Enjoy them!
