I have got 8 outlet boxes in my garage in my house that's being built. The wires in each of them look slightly different so I'm having a having a hard time confirming which will be outlets and which will be something else (what?). 1 & 2 location 1 & 2 close up One is light switch.... the...

Anyone just used a concrete stain in their garage?

I suppose I should say what I did end up going with after opting out of acid stain: Sherwin Williams' H&C Solvent-Based Concrete Sealer. Tile Red and then the Clear. My house is being built but I went ahead and bought the materials since it was on sale. I'll be installing toward the end of...

Anyone just used a concrete stain in their garage?

It sounds like the the Valspar stuff is not a true stain, but rather a topical coating that gives a stained appearance. I've noticed quite a few of these products on the market since starting my own research for my floor. The reason these are out there is they generally are an easier overall...

    Keyless entry security...

I count 35 of those that use every number. Still, thieves aren't going to spend a lot of time calculating the number of combinations possible based on apparent wear patterns. Not only that, if they're operating at night, they're having to use a flashlight to even see the wear patterns. And a...

    Keyless entry security...

I'm thinking it's someone else's and he's pointing out the wear pattern that makes the combination easy to guess. But it's really not easy to guess. ^^

Insulating a garage door that doesn't have "channels"

For lack of a better term, I'm calling them "channels". That is where, on most garage doors I've seen, you would pop your rectangular piece of insulation into. You'd basically not need any adhesive. I'm having a house built and I don't have those channels. The door may actually be already...

    Dehumidifier Recommendations?

I love the idea of a dehumidifier in the garage but we park a car in ours and a single opening and closing of the overhead door would negate 24 hours of dehumidifying.

    The VISES of Garage Journal

New guy here: I just moved to Houston. I've been trolling Craigslist and looking around for a vise to restore without much luck. Now I see why! Some of the most active people here are in Houston! Currently living in Spring until my house is done being built in Richmond. These vises are all...

What does the stuff look like up close? Does it have grooves in it? How do you clean spills? Does it stain?

    Bought my Porcelain!

How much does 1900sq ft of tile weigh? Seems like a silly thing to buy online. $800+ sounds cheap for shipping all that.

Red Stained and Epoxy Clear new garage floor

No, definitely not being a smart A! I'm researching flooring for my new garage in September. I really like the way stain looks so it's at the top of my list. Not going to hijack this thread...

Red Stained and Epoxy Clear new garage floor

Interesting that you etched it. I've been looking into doing the same thing in my new garage. I think it looks great! I had the understanding that a true etch eats away at the cementitious material that the acid reacts with.
