    Any Chance of an update?

    Something just clicked…..

Strouty, When I saw your thread about "Stuff bankruptcy" I thought "Oh no! Another bunch of talking instead of doing!" But I will freely admit I am wrong. I am really impressed with your progress. Although I am not as bad as you I do have the same tendencies so I recognize how difficult it must...

Why would a Battery Tender Junior not be sold in California?

Sorry to go slightly off topic but you keep talking about Koolaid drinkers and it doesn't mean anything to me 'cos Koolaid isn't sold in Britain. Can someone explain?

    Craftsman 6512 Toolbox

To me the dents are part of it's story. If you leave them in and your Dad walked into the garage(in a dream:-)) he would say" Oh! you painted up my old box!" If you straighten it up he would say"That box is like the one I used to have". A subtle but important difference, I think.

Seriously, would you pay $35 for this?

Seriously you could probably get it if you showed it in the right place. Have a look at Etsy and see the prices they charge for stuff on there.

    Simple Compressor Set-up

I.m no expert but here is what little I know: 1)Neither am I:dunno: 2)I have read those same 2 points and my conclusion was that I am more convinced by the sloping back to the compressor idea, but in the end what mattered most was having a slope and taking the drain from the lowest point. 3)I...

    [CAD] My Involute Gear Cutter

I'm the total opposite of an expert so please can you tell me the purpose of an involute gear? I have never heard of such a thing.

    gravity fed, bottom fuel tank

How about buying a tank from a scrap motorcycle? It would have to be an older one before F.I. and pumps, but they are already set up with vented fillers and a petcock and most are around 5 gallon capacity, and designed to be gravity feed.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

I didn't realize you could powder coat metal as thin as that. Prep must have been a royal pain, but it has come out well.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Good job you're on the other side of the country:eyecrazy:. Any mention of Christmas before November usually generates a slap round here:D To keep on topic I repaired my neighbour's hedge trimmer cable in the garage. He cuts through it at least once a year, doesn't own one tool and would be...

    Snap-On Sockets with Embedded Tar

Yeah. I used to deliver the stuff in a tipper(dump truck to you I think) and it always got a spray of diesel on the tail door before tipping to make sure it didn't stick.

    Par X

That probably explains why I haven't heard of them over here. Snap-On are well known and Blue Point are known but not so well, but I have never met anyone else with a ParX tool. Thanks for the info.

    Par X

I have just found my favourite quarter drive ratchet, which has been hiding away inside a piece of tubing for 10 years:bounce: I was really lucky - I don't even know how it got in there but I heard it slide as I was throwing the tube on to the scrap pile. If I hadn't heard the noise it would...

    Hazet Style Tool Trolly

I think I remember a thread about an IKEA kitchen trolley that looks almost identical and is strong enough to be used for tools. Might be worth a look through their catalogue/site.

Curiouser and curiouser ... more "what are they" 's ... thanks all

Re: Curioser and curioser ... more "what are they" 's ... thanks all I think early Jag's used Dunlop calipers. so I wouldn't be surprised to find them on Aston's too. Only a guess though.

    motorcycle brake hose

The OE ones weaken over time so when you squeeze the lever the pressure partially goes into "ballooning" the hose before it moves the pads. If you fit metal braided hoses they can't "balloon" and so all the pressure goes to work the brakes. The difference in efficiency is often quite startling...

    Tool stores in London?

    Tool stores in London?

I don't know London well enough to help you, and the King **** website only asks you to contact them for UK dealers so you aren't going to get a response till late Tuesday at the earliest because of the Bank Holiday on Monday. It does list 4 online dealers and 2 in the States so that is probably...
