Suggestions for a set of small cutters suitable to cut D Rings off motorcycle helmets

He said in post 1 that he is fitting a quick-release buckle to use instead of the "D" rings. I wouldn't do that but each to his own.

    Sealey tool - Any good?

I can't say anything about the ratchet - I have never used one - but in general Sealey tools are OK. I would never buy them as a first choice but I wouldn't be unhappy if that was all that was available.

I might add that MisteR Tee hasn't yet contacted me with the address to send the book on to, so it's probably a good time to do that now.

    The 3/8 inch drive

Most of my spannering is on Motorbikes so it's very rare I use half inch stuff. I prefer quarter if it's strong enough because it's lighter, smaller and easier but 3/8 will take care of everything else. 3/8 is the most used when I get to cars and like everyone else I break out the 1/2 inch stuff...

I just tried another PM to Ginger but it doesn't seem to have gone anywhere. Could it be because we are both on fairly low post counts? Is there a minimum limit before we are allowed to PM? Just in case Ginger, try e-mailing vaughanvfr (at) ntlworld.com
