    4 way switch?

Yes it would be powered by the same garage the lights are on. It would just have a second switch at the house.

    4 way switch?

I get how the 4 way switch works it was the end 3 way switches with the issues. How about I run a separate 3 way for the new garage powered by it with the power and light fixtures at the garage switch and send another switch to either the old garage or house? Would that be compliant? It would...

    4 way switch?

The existing lights may be powered from the garage panel I didn't pull the switches to confirm I just assumed. Both house panel and garage panel are next to the switches and less than 10' apart. I just wanted to be able to light the new garage with the old one being it's a distance away and dark...

    4 way switch?

So I currently have box#1 12/2 power and 12/3 jumping to box#2 that has the 12/2 feeding the lights. I added box #3 150' away and ran 12/3 wire to it. So I can add a 3rd switch to run the existing lights but the new garage lights go where? Do I need a additional 12/2 wire to run back to the...

    4 way switch?

I need some assistance with a 4 way switch setup. I have a current 3 way switch in my house to my first detached garage for the outside lights. I want to make it a 4 way by adding another switch to my second garage which is doable however I have additional lights on the second garage I want to...

    Staggering receptacles?

Ok the first garage is wired with 12/2-3 on 20amp breakers so I guess I will stay with 12 wire as much as it pains me!

    Staggering receptacles?

Another question a bit off topic. I ran 12/3 wire down to my second garage from the first to control the front wall lights on a 4 way switch. Is it ok to drop to 14/3 from the junction box to the switch box and then 14/2 to the lights? I ran 12 gauge wire for line loss at 175' and the 6 lights...

    Staggering receptacles?

Lights are on a separate circuit! LOL

    Staggering receptacles?

Yes and staggering them uses allot of extra wire as well. If it were one wall not too bad but 3 walls doubles the amount of Romex.

    Staggering receptacles?

Looks like the long walls have 8 duplex outlets which I was thinking of doing on each circuit not staggering. This way I don't use allot more wire staggering and the biggest loads I will have on them is a tire mounter and balancer. These don't have a permanent home so they may move around but...

    Staggering receptacles?

I'm in the process of laying out receptacles in my 35x50' garage and have them spaced about 6' apart. I'm wondering if I should stagger them like a kitchen A-B-A-B? What amount of receptacles would you limit per 20A circuit in a garage with a fair amount of equipment?

    Dry well

Think I'm going to do a simple stone pit like Larry's 10' or so from the garage with a overflow top just in case.

    Dry well

Water is not a issue I have that drainage is the issue.

    Dry well

Maybe even a sump pump pit. So they fill the drum with stone? The kits they now sell have the drum empty and stone around it for the water to bleed off into as it rises in the tank through the holes in it.

    Dry well

I'm going to gently ask the septic dept. about gray water rules in my area but I'm still going to do it regardless. I'm not putting anything down the drain besides dirty hands no chemicals or paints maybe a emergency pee! I used to do dry wells when we were building homes which were basically a...

    Dry well

I'm working on getting power to my new garage and I dropped a water line in the trench while I was at it so I can have water as well. I want to install a hand wash sink in it and pipe the gray water to a dry well. What's the best way to construct a well and how large would I need? The house has...

    Sub panel wire sizing.

Ok so main to sub #1 should be a 90amp then Sub #1 to Sub #2 should be a 90 amp then sub #2 can have the 100amp? Seems to me having the first 90amp breaker in the main limits the other two anyways so the breakers downstream are disconnects at that point.

    Sub panel wire sizing.

So the first 90 amp breaker in the main panel trumps the other two 100amp disconnects in the subs and makes it code compliant?

    Sub panel wire sizing.

Question so the main breaker feeding the first sub panel is 100amp like I stated in the beginning which is not code. If I swap that for the correct 90amp breaker does it matter if the other two panels have 100amp mains?

    Sub panel wire sizing.

Yea seems like Lowes is a few bucks cheaper on the conduit plus I get contractor pricing which is 5% more. I'm going to hit my buddy up and see if he can get any better pricing from the local supply houses not likely but worth a shot. Thanks for all the help!
