    Let's see your toolbox.

I'm sure it's why the 1500/1700 can be had relatively inexpensively now (I bought mine for $600.) That drawer is massively overbuilt and was meant to store prybars, pickle forks and the like and I've managed to fill it just fine. I'd imagine since this was the first all ball bearing box from MAC...

    2019 Home Depot Clearance Thread

Not as good as when it was $25 but still a good "Fill up the new toolbox while you selectively upgrade" set at this price.

    MAC MB1700 Restoration

FYI for cosmetics I decided to vinyl wrap instead of respray and am very happy I did even if my technique wasn't that great and would do a much better job if I had to do it again.

    MAC MB1700 Restoration

I just went through this with an MB1500 and after a lot of legwork I can tell you the one piece pulls are unobtanium so you're on the right track with the older style.

    Let's see your toolbox.

It's holding up great so far. I expect it will be at least as durable as the Rustoleum spray job I gave the office supply cabinets I'm using for the rest of my garage storage and I have enough extra for repairing any damage that occurs. If you do it don't skimp on the material - get Avery or 3M...

    What compressor pump is this?

See my edit, it may be an oil pressure unloader, but you'll need to check with CH. If it's for continuous run then you can cap it off, but I don't see a pilot valve in those pics so not really sure what's going on there.

    What compressor pump is this?

Looks like it's part of the unloader plumbing. On a pressure lubed pump this would keep the unloaders activated until oil presser is built. I would have thought this pump was splash lubed but perhaps not.

    What compressor pump is this?

Looks like a Campbell Hausfield, most likely an older version of either the TF2111 or XP2101 which are 7.5/5 HP pumps respectively and capable of pushing 23/16 CFM at 175psi. You'll need to find the exact model and then check for parts availability as not all CH pumps of that vintage are still...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

New rear shocks on wife's Escape. Super easy job, didn't even require getting it in the air to complete.

Experiences with file cabinets for storage?

Laterals sprayed with thinned Rustoleum using a Harbor Freight airless HVLP sprayer, picked up one for free and the other two for $100 total. Added two more supply cabinets for $200, super happy with this setup. Things like car and service covers, paint supplies, extension cords, corded power...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Changed spark plugs on the wife's Escape, which obviously requires removal of the intake and lots of attached sensors and hoses cause why not?. Three hour job start to finish, however did get to use my new air impact ratchet which was kind of overkill for the 8 and 10mm bolts on this job but fun...

    Show your new tool arrivals

Now that I have a nice toolbox obviously I need to start putting new (to me) stuff inside it to much spousal eye rolling. I've made do with a pretty crappy set of ratchets over the years, and have been scouring eBay for truck quality stuff after having waited for and ultimately been unimpressed...

    Quincy valuation 241C60VCB

If you can get if for that price just do it and spend $100 on an intake muffler which should quiet it down quite a bit (albeit not to Saylor Beall 705 levels.)

    Quincy valuation 241C60VCB

Per the archives this is the equivalent of a single stage QT-5, which is splash instead of pressure lubed and makes 17cfm at 100 Psi and 900 RPM. Market price for a verifiably well running QT-5 single phase of that vintage in California would be in the $6-700 range but not sure if that would be...

Icon tools are coming spring/summer 2019

Count me as a Prosumer level buyer that has bought his share of HF stuff who was extremely excited for the Icon ratchets to replace my random CM pieces and ended up being underwhelmed when they finally showed up on the shelves. Hard to put into words everything that went into that reaction, but...

Is this SO set a good deal?

For that price make sure to call in the S/N to make sure there's no lien on it, do it while you're there and if it's clear take Teddy KGB's advice.

Holy Frijoles! Post up pics of your Snap On Taco boxes

KRA-396 for $500, I like the layout better than the 562, but casters not so much. https://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/tls/d/napa-snap-on-tool-box-cart-cabinet/6992850553.html

    New little shop compressor

What are the sizes of your pullies? I'm looking to install a 3HP motor to replace my 1.5 Marathon unit that is running with a 4:1 Ratio and need to go to 2:1, maybe we can swap?

    New little shop compressor

I think that's a 216, I have the same unit which I believe was sold by Binks. If it is a 216 it can run at up to 900RPM / 3HP, pretty sure you will need a 1.5 HP motor to maintain it at it's lowest operating RPM of 400. edit: Just watched your video and see it's a 210, disregard :)
