That was a while ago, right? :dunno: They have a space program and build their own nuclear weapons, so it should be safe to assume they are familiar with alloys, tolerances, heat treating and other aspects of working with metals. Whether or not any of that translate to retail metal products...

    Lawn Mowers Service Manuals?

Any scratch deep enough to hit bare metal will rust. Now day? Besdes, it's a "big box store" they don't really give a ****. See above "you get what you pay for" Almost none of them manufacture their own engines for garden/lawn tractors. Never did. Most are more-or-less "off the...

Can we completely replace our combo wrenches with ratcheting ones yet?

I always bust loose/tighten fasteners with a regular wrench first/last. Just seems dumb not to, but then mine are from HF, maybe not the strongest ratchet wrenches on the planet. Maybe they are. :dunno: (or care)

    Lawn Mowers Service Manuals?

Back in the old days, owners changed the oil and oiled/greased anything that looked like it would benefit from being oiled/greased. :dunno: My sister had some crappy MTD built unit (Husky?) that Tractor Supply sold, mowed a big yard for 18 years until the cheap front axles wore completely...

A combination wrench is such a difficult thing to make. It’s hard to imagine that they could do something like that in India They might be using the exact same equipment snap on used to make combination wrenches 50 years ago

    Kennedy Kits Discontinued

I just scanned some listed manual machinist jobs in my region. Most under $30/hr. Is that a lot of money? :headscrat As far as the typical "machinist tool box", does one ever own more than one their entire career? :dunno: Might be why Kennedy is in the doldrums. An industry that has lost any...

Battery charger - FAIL Crashed several times using for maintenance and fried (overcharged) my backhoe battery, not knowing what "automatic" means. Plus the display is impossible to read in any sunlight...

Detail Factory Overview & Buyers Guide

Receiving critique is usually part of publishing anything. (Been there, done that) Maybe not be so defensive to the responses? It's not helping you get your message out :dunno:

    Welder purchase questions

120v kind of limits on how thick of metal you can easily weld. At least get a dual voltage welder.

    Welder purchase questions

Search the forum. there is probably 8000 threads on "what welder should I buy?" I have a MIGMax that works fine, but now days, there are way more capable import machines out there at lower prices. Used welder will either be stolen or tired, IMO.

    Legit tool reviews

Didn't just about everything have at least some "asbestos" in it, back then? :dunno: The whole "shill" moniker is pretty funny. They take something they received en gratis out of the box, enthusiastically demonstrate it's functions, then cheer about how great it is, often compared to something...
