What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Re: what did you do in your garage today? Not a thing. My daughter is moving to Sweden tomorrow, so i've been spending time with her. I definitely have a list though.

My shop, home away from home, money pit

What I like the best is probably the pine siding. It's the first thing people comment on when they walk in. Really gives it a finished look. I wish I would have attached it to the studs differently though. There have been a couple of times when I have wanted to add an electrical outlet in a...

My shop, home away from home, money pit

Thanks for the kind words. Although technically it's not a garage, but a small shop, it serves me well. I have used some of the same ideas in my actual garage. I'll post those when I get a chance. There is a 50/50 chance that my wife and I may move in the next 5 or so years. If that happens, I...

    My first garage (recent homeowner)

What's wrong with you. Apparently you haven't been watching tv enough to know the world is coming to an end. 21 and a homeowner? Very impressive. Good for you!! Everyone on this site had zero carpentry skills at one point. The key is to not be afraid to try and not get discouraged with mistakes...

    12V screw/drill drivers - opinions

I also own several m12 Milwaukee tools. I have an18v makita that I like, but hardly ever pick it up since I purchased the Milwaukee. Small, lightweight with plenty of torque. If I were you, I would skip the box store and hit a tool specific store that carries the entire m12 line. There are at...

    Just installed Fahrenheat FUH5 ( Dayton G73 Clone )

$229 is a great price. I paid $259 and got an additional $10 off with a coupon at northern tools. My neighbor has a Dayton and the only difference is the Dayton decal on the front. I don't get it.

    Just installed Fahrenheat FUH5 ( Dayton G73 Clone )

I'll keep you posted. Curious myself. Since it will only run as needed, maybe 15-20hrs a month, I don't anticipate a problem. I've read hundreds of reviews leading up to purchasing this heater. Most people are very happy with the energy cost as long as you do not run it all the time.

    Just installed Fahrenheat FUH5 ( Dayton G73 Clone )

Just installed my Fahrenheat FUH5 heater (Dayton G73 clone) in my shop today. I already had a sub panel in my shop, so adding the 30amp double pole breaker and the 10/2 wiring was a breeze. It hasn't got real cold as of yet but the heater took my 16x22 shop from 46.6 degrees to 70.3 in 62...

Ever just run out of motivation?

It happens! Felt that way several times in my life. I find that forums like this, web sites, mags, and even home imp.shows on tv get me going again. If I can just get started, I usually get remotivated. Sure is easy to lay on the couch sometimes though

kobalt ratchet and sockets? your opinions

Ive had the same craftsman ratchets and sockets for 25 years. No real issues with them except I seemed to have lost 6-7 sockets over the years and somehow ended up with multiples of others. I am thinking about purchasing a complete new set (it would also be nice to have them all organized in a...

    Garage Project Underway

4x8 pine siding from menards. $22-23 a sheet. The only thing that I would have done different is attach to the wall with screws the same color as the pine. If I would have countersunk them a bit you would not even notice. That would enable me to pull the panels off if I ever wanted to change...

    Garage Project Underway

Go for it. I'll be be watching. You think those trenches will never look right, but after a couple years I can't even tell where mine are. I'll be bet you wish you would have purchased the wire a few years ago. I recently purchased some 10 g to run 220. I hadn't purchased electrical wire for...

What's on your walls? Neat storage ideas!

I'm a bit picky when it comes to my shop. Since it is only 16x22 it gets messy very fast if everything does not have a place. Below are a few ideas that i came up with to keep it a bit more organized. I have 30 of these storage bins built in under my cabinets. In them I keep assorted sizes of...
