Above 1200 Sq/FT Project not an eyesore

Short answer yes, kind of. Father time always wins, it's just a when. It's just whether it fits into the timeline that is acceptable or not to me. I'm somewhat comforted by the idea that i'm following the spec of a landscaping company that handles high end builds regularly. if it's good enough...

Above 1200 Sq/FT Project not an eyesore

Lost a good chunk of today getting the planter along the fence line set and straight. Wasn't expecting it to take quite so long, but my labor is free and it got done which is what matters. The plan for keeping it from shifting has always been to put the planters on "pillars" of concrete in the...

Had plans cancel today so was able to put some kilz on the wall paneling. there is still a few touch up spots, but happy to get the big work done. Hoping to get the paint knocked out in this corner soon to get the storage rack in place.

Because it's warm I have also been spending a decent amount of time in the pool with the family. The TV has a bunch of glare from the pool deck, but is absolutely perfect from the pool. So glad I put that in.

On the positive I making some progress on the wall paneling/insulation. Made it through most of the insulation that I ordered, and the wall paneling is going relatively smoothly. Now I need to decide on what color scheme to go with for wainscotting. Thinking black/grey. Thoughts?

Above 1200 Sq/FT Project not an eyesore

The past month has had many projects and minimal progress on each of them. Life, work, and social calendars are the bane of the DIY class. The biggest one has been around getting the planters around the pool deck built out, with a deadline of early July. The landscape design calls for 9 planter...

LOL, took me a second to realize what you were saying as it's been so long. Medium length story. Ordered building from Mueller assuming porch was flat. Told the concrete guys to do a 1/8" slope on porch because it's part of pool deck. Totally forgot to tell Mueller to adjust porch columns...

We have a similar thought process. Here is an example from a 3'x3'x14'. I drilled a bunch of post holes down, filled with concrete, and put a couple sticks of rebar in each hole (have plenty from my driveway/shop slab). Those will eventually get welded to the side of the planter. I also for good...

Anyone come up with Levrack Alternatives?

This one popped up on my feed recently. I am going to take the general idea and run with it.

Standard mild steel, but 1/4" thick. This is what the high end landscape company was going to use, so don't feel too worried about it rusting through.

Current project and logistical challenge. Building steel planters around the pool deck. These two pieces when combined will make a 4' wide X 34' long planter. The issues that will come out of that are setting it in place, and keeping the pieces straight in line. The next one will be even...

Life has been busy so don't have much progress to report on the shop. It's been in a good enough state for quite some time, so it's just been about various metalwork and landscape projects this year anyway. That being said, I did want to document a couple things for posterities sake. Decided...

That is a lot of drops! really smart to do before anything gets closed up. Going to have to revisit my amount for future proofing.

Bonus photos of one of 7 planters I am building for our landscaping project. Still figuring out the process on that. She is a bit unruly so takes some assistance to set in place.

As promised after getting delayed with painting. As far as splits there are none LOL. This is wood that has followed me for 3 years from previous house as we never run the firepit.

Above 1200 Sq/FT Garage build in South West B.C

Running a 4 ton, 3 18k head Mr. Cool setup. Bought the pre-charged lines so I didn't have to mess with vacuum or sweating lines. Everything has worked as expected and install was braindead easy (even for a desk jockey like me). Have two other friends running units without issues. My only...

But then I have to paint it, and I don't love paint prep. Likely unless you throw some twigs on top. Normally form follows function, but in this instance the aesthetic is more important than 100% space utilization. At least to me.
