Anyone have a newer Inground vehicle lift?

Most every shop I worked at had one and two post in-ground lifts. Only one shop did the above ground thing, and they are fine too. The two post lifts are excellent and can do pretty much anything you want. They can absolutely lift a cab off a frame too, as I have done that (Fords). The new...

Lets see your vintage shop work lights

Try Mcmaster Carr. You'll have to measure it, but they do sell some. https://www.mcmaster.com/products/knurled-nuts/panel-nuts-2~/

I picked up these tube benders today.

Interesting. Agreed that K & L are certainly not annealed and are just to denote wall thickness, as you said. For bending, I have had L pipe fracture from bending even with a proper sized bender. It will physically bend in hard state, but I always anneal it first and have no fracture issues if...

I picked up these tube benders today.

Those gear benders are the later imperial Eastman version of the original Holsclaw Handy bender. I have a couple myself, and they are simply amazing. I use my 5/8 one for bending brass tubing for automotive heater plumbing. It handles that and regular copper tubing beautifully. You can...

    Tiny screws

This is a picture of a screw I had out from a pocket watch I was repairing/servicing. Probably made back in about 1900. I forget which watch it was. Either a Deuber (pre Hampden, in which case it's even older than that) or an Elgin from about the turn of the century.

    Tiny screws

Assuming they are old, Watches are my bet. Or precision measurement instruments. Lots of different ways to make them. Die heads, polygon milling (currently common on Swiss type lathes), thread rolling, single point threading, just to name a few. This video is a Tornos Nano Swiss Lathe using...

Dividers, compass, trammels, associated tools, (not calipers)

Ah. I was wondering if that project you worked on was a polygon milling process. The Wera hex plus ones look like they could be.

Were those Wera hex keys you were working on by chance?

    Hot water parts cleaner

We had a Corty like that which was a top loader. Spray hot water and detergent only. Very effective. It vented into the shop, but it was a big shop. They would dump the water about once a week and change it with new detergent. Originally, one of the two owners kept loading it up with what...

    Let's see your Magnetic compass

My two main compasses. The Silva Ranger is an old unit that I was given by my neighbor from during his outdoorsman days up to the 1960's maybe?. No idea when it was made but it is a great compass. I carry and use that one in my hiking pack. A favorite. The other is a US Military M2...

    Ammco brake lathes

The combination Drum/Rotor machine is a good unit. Most of the shops I worked at had those and we used to cut all drums and rotors as standard part of the brake job as long as it was possible. Later shop had a STAR machine. Same basic idea, but much heavier casting and electric power feeds...

    Books!

That house looks like it had the whole Lindsay collection. I bought a bunch of his reprints, wish they were still around.

Have some questions on a single post floor lift

If that other pipe you put oil in was in the floor next to the lift, it probably has a separate oil tank underground next to the cylinder. I don't recognize the arms on that head, but we had several of that control style with just the up or down momentary valves, rather than the up/down...

1970's Harley Davidson factory wiring pin connectors---what is the name for these?

Interesting. The company I work for used to make a few sizes of extractor tools for MOLEX. I don't recall what sizes we made though. They were spring loaded and red handled. Sorry that does not help, but it struck a memory. Misumi and Mouser are my usual sources for connectors and pins.

    Older Mitsubishi generator

It would be worth opening up and cleaning the new carb. I have had many of the chinese carbs that had bits of materials leftover inside causing restrictions again and again. Generally clogged ports or jets need to be cleaned by disassembly. Also consider putting a full size fuel filter inline...

    Books!

Just read Peter Jenkins "A Walk Across America". Written in 1979 detailing his walk that started in 1973. I really enjoyed it and plan on reading his others. A good perspective from a time dealing with issues.

Tank Wrenches Only (AKA: Bottle Wrenches, Gas Bottle Wrenches, Cylinder Wrenches, etc.)

I have several Harris (Harris Calorific) torch sets/pieces myself. Good quality items, though I have not looked for a while to see if they are still in business.
