    New 32x56 build

Thanks. I have been fortunate enough to work along side the carpenter and help him with some things. Its been a few years since I have done anything carpentry related so it has been pretty fun. Everything is going very smooth thanks to the great fall weather we have had so far.

    How wide?

32x8o haha j/k. I have a 28x30 garage with a staircase going downstairs instead of up. The staircase is in front of the suburban. It gets a little tight there. And in the second stall I have my crew cab duramax or my 19 foot boat. In front of that I have a full size fridge and gun safe. Along...

New Garage-Best course of action on sloped ground

Is there any way you can go wider on the shed and shorten it up. That would give you more room to position it farther back so you don't have as steep of an entry. I would be afraid of cutting into the hill if it were mine. I had to add almost 6 feet of fill to my shed I am building now but it is...

    Ballpark figures 30 X 50 Stick built?

I am in the process of building my 32x56 with 16 foot sidewalls. It is a ladder frame construction. In floor heat, 14x12 overhead door. I don't have any time to do the work myself for another year or so, so I am paying someone to do it. Without dirt work or electrical included I will have about...

Interior Wall Sheathing - Why Use Metal?

I am putting steel inside mine for the same reasons as stated above and also because I am going to have a wash bay in the back and can just wash the walls down when they get dirty.

Has anyone here built a Roubo-style Workbench?

Never seen anything like that before. A lot of time and thought into that bench. I would be afraid to use it. But, now its on my bucket list of things to build.

    lighting a 32x56 with 16 foot sidewalls.

Well I guess you guys answered my question. I don't have a whole lot of experience in lighting/electrical. I don't like working on things I can't see that can get me.

woodworkers advise: router table vs shaper

I am slowly getting into wood working and am in the market for a router/table. I won't be doing anything huge like kitchen cabinets or anything. More just hobby things benches, signs, maybe a table or two. I ran across a grizzly shaper. I think it would cost about the same to get a router and...

How to keep bookend from sliding?

how about door bumpers for on cabinet doors so they don't bang shut. They make felt ones too but I think the rubber ones would work. Cheap and easy.

    Homeowner abominations

When we bought our place there was an old farmhouse on it. We built a new house but lived in the old one for about a year while we planned and built the new one. The ceiling was so off level that on one side of the closet they plastered the wall above the trim and by the time it got to the...

    Best Garage Broom/Mop

I sweep with a Harper broom. I forget what number it is but they have different brooms for different surfaces. I have tried other brooms and Harper is by far the best I have used. Then once a month or so I wash down with a garden hose.
