Let's Hear it for the Old Gray/Red Sears Craftsman Tool Chests and Cabinets (60s/70s)

Hey Taumac, I'm back after about a year absence, possibly more. I'm in the middle of reading all the posts I've missed about Craftsman gray and red boxes. Do you happen to know when the chevron style badges were produced with the smaller pin spacing? I need two badges with the shorter...

Let's Hear it for the Old Gray/Red Sears Craftsman Tool Chests and Cabinets (60s/70s)

Has anyone found a source for the two 'clips' that hold the sliding door parts together? I have been absent on here for a while, but am restoring another roller. Thanks.

I need help re-wiring this reversible motor

I bet I looked at that sticker 5 + times. Stupid me. It goes in a window to **** the air outward. I have it in my garage window. I'll try to link a picture to the thread I started on this fan quite a while back. It ended up with the motor off one of my old Craftsman belt sanders until I can...

I need help re-wiring this reversible motor

This motor is going on an old Sears/Homart fan. The shaft rotates clockwise, but I need to reverse it in order for the fan to pull air out of the room. I don't know much about wiring at all! Please help. Thanks.

Let's Hear it for the Old Gray/Red Sears Craftsman Tool Chests and Cabinets (60s/70s)

I don't think it has been repainted. These boxes just have a lot of different styles, color combos, features, etc. It seems not much is set in stone.

Let's Hear it for the Old Gray/Red Sears Craftsman Tool Chests and Cabinets (60s/70s)

The date should be on the bottom rail toward the right. That top number in your picture is the model number. Very nice cabinet. I've never found one that didn't need a good restoring.

Let's Hear it for the Old Gray/Red Sears Craftsman Tool Chests and Cabinets (60s/70s)

BR, If you haven't gotten those clips out yet, be careful. They will break if pounded on. I broke one of mine because they just would not come out. Others have said theirs come out easily. On the first cabinet I did, they did come out easily by taping with a large flat blade. The second...

Let's Hear it for the Old Gray/Red Sears Craftsman Tool Chests and Cabinets (60s/70s)

I found a NOS emblem on ebay, and bought it right away. I paid too much because it was the first one I had seen available in quite a few months. About 29 bucks I believe. That's more than I've paid for some of my CM boxes! I still need a couple more.

    Anyone into Hand Saw Collecting?

I've bid on a few, but I am never willing to go for the crazy prices they are getting. I have been looking for a Diston D8 pre-war model. Thanks for the informative post. I plan to search it when I get more time. It's almost Kerf u time. I guess I'll go saw some logs.
