Not Mine.. But a good price on a NEW f80

I bought a F80 and TF72 brand new for $50. Some guy local was selling a ton of brand new snap on tools.

    Piercing Probe

In the situation he used this in, it was just about his only choice. When dabbed with liquid electrical tape, what's the chances of a failure from moisture?

    Gear wrench

I have a good many GearWrench sockets, no problems here. I don't use them on a daily basis though.

    Piercing Probe

I just found his channel through ETCG's channel. He's providing a wealth of knowledge if you're smart enough to adapt what he's providing. I know some guys get picky about putting holes in wiring, but in this case, it was about his only choice to probe it that way.

    Piercing Probe

Was watching a ScannerDanner YouTube video and noticed him using one. Looks like it can be very handy in certain situations. Being that I'm just a weekend warrior, I've never seen one, so hopefully this might open up someone else's eyes. He was nice enough to respond to my comment asking about...

    New ebay selling tactic...

Seen something similar the other week with automotive parts. The seller had his wife/gf/ or whomever holding the parts with massive cleavage showing.

    Jackstands that are..different

I see a few complaints about price. I don't think who this is geared for is worried about money. It will probably see well to his intended crowd.

    Engine Building Tools

In which building an engine applies to #2. You should have every component going into the engine, so every measurement is a comparative measurement. In my opinion some people get bent out of shape on this stuff. As long as no tolerance is too tight, the thing is going to run. Even when...

    In a pinch bearing heater...

At work we use a purpose built bearing heater with a built in thermostat control limit. Its pretty nice and doesn't take long for a 12"+ bearing to heat up.

    In a pinch bearing heater...

Lots of in a pinch options popping up. Wife just cooked on a electric skillet, maybe that would work too.

    In a pinch bearing heater...

Coming home from work today and an idea came to mind. What if you took a turkey fryer stand and added a 1/4 plate to the top. Put the bearing on, light it up and wait until she gets to temp. It might keep some of you out of the dog house if the wife noticed a bearing in the oven :dunno:

Also I see some recommendations for plasti gauge. Yea its helpful if you don't have measuring equipment, but the OP want's measuring equipment to check everything. Ends up being useless IMO.

    Engine Building Tools

I'm not saying that I've never made a mistake. If you've been doing it awhile its going to happen, but I'm not going to hide anything from you. Most of the time in the machining world, its a stupid mistake as we call it. You miss it by, .025, .050, .100 or even 1". You get caught up looking at...

OMG!!!! You mean it runs and you used a harbor freight indicator ;) . Clean looking engine bay. Are the rear calipers in that position from the factory? Never paid any attention to them.

    Engine Building Tools

I think you're on the same page as most of us here. I'd agree with the Glyptol statement, I'd rather polish the inside of the block than paint it. The stretch gauge isn't used much on stock rebuilds, but in performance applications its commonly used and ARP strongly recommends it. Also the OP...

    Engine Building Tools

We are building an engine here. Something that has been done numerous times without million dollar gauges. Nothing in an engine needs to be +/- a tenth. I think you meant to post this in "I want to grind a bearing race" thread.
