major paint problems on car- need suggestions

yes I tried wet 600 and 400...both gummed up the paper something awful. compile that with all the bondo that was cracking on the car and wavy when you looked down the side, I knew I would be sanding quite a bit. so the 220 was brought out, knowing I would be resealing with epoxy, high...

    Welding in patch panels

I have purchased some quarter panels for a project and they are stamped with a recess at the top of the panel. Can I use clecos to pull the new panel to the old metal that I have cut and weld a seam from the front? Do I need to cut that recess off the patch panel?

major paint problems on car- need suggestions

Well fella's thank you for the responses. here is where we stand currently. 600 grit wet gummed up, so did 400, 220 didn't and I achieved a good scuff on the entire car. I took a magnet across the car and anywhere it did not stick well I did a 'discovery sanding'. Basically sanding down where...

thanks for the info guys. Can you color sand a single stage metallic? couple questions on my process... Can I scuff the paint that doesn't need bodywork for adhesion of the new paint job? what grit? I assume I will need to sand the paint entirely away, do bodywork, prime and feather it out for...

major paint problems on car- need suggestions

It is a titanium metallic silver Acrylic Enamel, and to be honest I believe it is a cheap paint the previous owner used, TCP Global (Restoration Shop). garage air line plan- Critique please

I can add a filter/dryer in front of tool and air tank easily. Does the filter at the tank actually trap pretty well? I do not use inline oilers either. The dryer in front of the paint reel is a fairly nice one I got as a gift, figured it would be better put to that use for the best dry air...

the rims are what came on the 86' s10 that the body is sitting on. I don't like them either, was looking at gunmetal boss 338's 18 in front 20 in rear...but also like the steel wheels with solid disc center. whitewalls wont be on this truck, I like them just not on this truck. so until I make up...
