Water pooling and floor slippery after having it coated :(

+1 for the Shark Grip. I added this to the final clear coat when I did my floor and could not be happier with the results. You can't slip on my floor even if you try! Only downside is the anti-slip makes the floor "hold" dirt a little bit more. Still worth it though.

Patch with rustoleum than sanded ... how to get depressions?

I would check with Rustoleum but I seem to recall they told me that you don't even need to sand their epoxy patch product so long as the epoxy is applied within "x" days. I know I did not sand the few spots where I applied it and it has been about 15 months since I applied the epoxy and no...

Re-coating Epoxy that was just done. Will it work or not?

When I applied my clear coat it was very difficult to see the clear going on. I found the easiest way was to have a bright flood / halogen light sitting on the floor shinning towards the area I was rolling. I also turned off the overhead lights and shut the door (be sure to wear a...

Re-coating Epoxy that was just done. Will it work or not?

I used the Rustoleum Professional Epoxy about 14 months ago and have been very pleased with it. One tip for spreading the chips, I "filtered" mine through a large colander in order to remove all the little pieces and fine dust. This allowed me to just use the bigger chips. Turned out nice, in...

    Epoxy Floor

I added "Shark Grip" to the clear on my floor. Even when it is convered with melting snow you cannot slip on this floor. Without it you would bust your as* in a heartbeat.

    Epoxy Primer

Hi, I struggled with this same question when I used the Rustoleum Professional on my floor. I talked with the folks at Rustoleum and they said they do not produce a primer that is designed to be used with the EpoxyShield and they do not recommend using one. I was worried that if I used a...

Red Stained and Epoxy Clear new garage floor

Nice looking floor! Just a question / comment, I have always heard that you should never heat concrete with any type of torch due to the risk of explosion. Is this not true?

Need help with oil on concrete

"Pour-n-Restore" worked great on my stubborn oil stains. I was impressed how well it "pulled" the oil out of the concrete.

Rustoleum Professional Epoxy Shield: 1 Year Review

As for product availabilty, my local HD and Lowe's did not stock the Professional Epoxy Shield, only the water-based stuff. I ordered mine through Amazon. I was able to purchase the Rustoleum Premium Clear at my local HD and I have also seen it on the shelf at Lowes.

Rustoleum Professional Epoxy Shield: 1 Year Review

So, it has been about 13 months since I applied the Rustoleum Professional Epoxy Shield (solvent based, not the water based junk) and Premium Clear. Thought it was a good time to provide an update and let everyone know how it has held up. Information on how I preppped / applied is posted in...

Need your opinion: Urethane over EpoxyShield (?)

Hi, Rustoleum makes a product called "Premuim Clear Coat" that is designed to be used over their Epoxy Shield. It is available at most Home Depots and costs about $90 per gallon. I applied this over the Professional Epoxy Shield that I put on my floor last year. Overall it is a good product...

Need advice on epoxy coat estimate

Just as a point of reference, I let my floor dry for 4 or 5 days (with very large fan blowing) just to make 100% sure it was dry before applying the epoxy. I'm no expert but I don't see how they could pressue wash and apply epoxy in the same day. Just my $.02.

    This is so confusing!

Chenthu, I noticed you live in Ashburn, as do I. Send me a PM if you would like to take a look at the Rustoleum Professional Epoxyshield that I used on my floor. Not trying to sell you on epoxy but it might help you to see how looks and how it has held up (about 1 year old now). Also, I did...

    Epoxyshield Question

If you don't have a cut line you may have an issue with proper adhesion between where the overlap is (not to mention the visible lapmarks). I think Rustoleum suggests you recoat within 3 or so days. After that you may need to scuff / sand the surface to ensure good adhesion. I applied the...

    Epoxy Shield flat spots?

I used the Pro Epoxy Shield (solvent based) and can say that 2 coats of color are defiitely needed. I called Rustoleum before starting the job and asked about applying a primer. They did not recommend a primer, maybe this is beacuse they don't make one? Anyway, so I viewed the 1st coat of...

Sawdust stained my new concrete!? what can I do?

You might want to try "Pour-n-Restore". This stuff worked wonders on several very old / stubborn stains on my floor. It is designed to work on oil stains but it might be worth a try.
