    Rustoleum Epoxy

The Rustoleum sold by Lowe's is water-based, no good (i.e. junk). IF he / you are going with Rustoleum be sure to use the Rustoleum Professional, which is solvent based. I put the Rustoleum Pro on my floor about 1 year ago and it has held up great!

    Oil spill/stain

+1 for the Pour n Restore. I was amazed how well that worked on my floor. If your garage isn't heated you might need / want to place a space heater or high output halogen lamp to warm the area after applying the Pour n Restore. Before I used it on my floor I read some where that the stuff is...

Question about removing Oil stains from concrete

For tough stains there is a great product called "Pour-n-Restore". Pour it on the stain and allow it to dry to a powder, which pulls up the stain. Then you just sweep the powder up. Did wonders on my floor prior to coating with epoxy

best bang for the buck floor epoxy

+1 for the Rustoleum Pro w/ their Premium Clear. I used this in my garage about 6 months ago and it looks great! As everyone says, key to success is prep, prep, prep!

    Rustoleum Professional Epoxy

Hi, Before walking on it - about 16 hrs Moved furniture & junk back in - 3 days Pulled the cars in - 3 weeks. Now, I should explain this a little bit. I know Rustoleum says you can park on it after 4 days, but I did not want to take ANY chances with hot tire p/u issues. I figured after going...

    Rustoleum Professional Epoxy

Looks great. I used the Rustoleum Pro & Premium Clear (w/ Shark Grip) on my floor about 4 months ago. So far no issues and not a single occurence of "hot tire" p/u.

HELP & Advice on Rustoleaum Epoxy Paint Sept 18th!

Sorry, one more thing. You said the reason the installer is able to give you a good deal is because he got the material at a surplpus store. You might want to confirm the manufacturing. I believe it has a 5 year shelf life. Not sure what impact additional aging might have but better to be...

HELP & Advice on Rustoleaum Epoxy Paint Sept 18th!

I used the Rustoleum Professional Epoxy on my floor and am very happy with it. A couple suggestions: 1) You said the installer confirmed it is the "Premium". I might be splitting hairs here but the solvent based epoxy that Rustoleum makes is called "Professional Epoxy Shield" not "Premium"...

    Etching concrete with muriatic acid

Not trying to sell anything here but just want to mention that one way to get around the uneven profiling that can happen with acid (due to high & low spots in floor) is to use the etching solution made by Surface Gel Tek. Since it is suspended in a gel solution it doesn't flow off the high...

    Epoxy questions

Atimado, I am not a pro installer but I would say that you need to make sure the floor is 100% dry if you are only able to wait 24 hrs after the final rinsing. Perhaps you could increase the wife’s patience with flowers? :) For the clear, I used 1 kit (which yields 1 gal of mixed material)...

    Epoxy questions

I used the Rustoleum Pro on my floor about 4 months ago and I am really happy with it. So far, not a single occurrence if hot tire p/u. 1) After etching, washing, etc I let the floor dry for 4 days to be 100% sure it was dry. 2) I applied 2 coats of the epoxy shield color about 24 hrs...

    Aluminum Oxide

I mixed my "anti-slip" into the clear coat and be sure to stir / mix it often. Did you look at or consider using Shark Grip? I did a a bit of research on this site and others and in the end decided that the Shark Grip product provided the best compromise between anti-slip properties, feel, and...

    Epoxy floor prep/floor finish

Good point. I think they suggested the stronger one to me since I was planning on doing multiple coats of epoxy, can't remember exactly. Anyway, good stuff (except a little $$).

    Epoxy floor prep/floor finish

I used the Tek Gel HD-24 "Pre-Grind" solution which is a little more aggressive and is suppose to give a profile close to 80~100 grit. I think their "Profiling" product produces a feel similar to 120 grit. Either way, a good way to produce a very even profile. For those who are interested...

epoxy pricing- what an I missing?

I had to order it from Amazon also. At that time they had free shipping, but it looks like that is not the case at the moment. If you decide to go with the Rustoleum Pro you might be able to have a local retailer order it for you. Go to http://www.rustoleum.com/CBGCorporate.asp?sn=lr and you...

epoxy pricing- what an I missing?

I think it is important to note there is a big difference between the water-based Rustoleum Epoxy Shield junk that HD sells and the solvent-based Rustoleum Professional Epoxy Shield. I used the Rustoleum Pro on my floor and absolutely love it. Looks great and very tough.

Need some quick crack filling advice!

I used the Rustoleum crack repair / fill product with their Professional Epoxy on my floor and it worked great. I purchased it from Amazon but I have also seen it at HD.

    Cut feet?

I used the Shark Grip additive with the Rutoleum Pro on my floor and am very happy with the results. It has good anti-slip properties but is not rough to the touch. If you have a Sherwin Williams dealer near you they usually have display samples that will give you an idea of what it feels...

    Anti-slip for Acrylic Sealer?

I used the SharkGrip for my Epoxy Floor and I am very happy with it. Not sure if it can be used with Acrylic Sealers but you could give the manufacturer (HE) a call at (216) 566-2902 and see what they say.
