    2025 tool truck sightings.

Today at the independent shop about 1/2 block from the house. It's always this one or Matco.

I actually went to Harbor Freight to look for two things. They did not have either one. The significant thing is that I left without buying anything. It was so out of character that I had to mention it. First time for everything.

How do you store pliers? Smallest to biggest or different types together?

I got racks for a couple of tool box drawers and tried to organize by function. Tried. I keep changing things depending on which pliers get used most often. It's ongoing.

    Hardened Adhesive removal

3M makes a pretty effective adhesive remover [spray can] that is paint safe. I'd take a piece of plastic wrap from the kitchen, give that spot a spray of the remover then slap the plastic wrap on. It will hold it in place and let the remover work a while without evaporating. Fingers crossed...

Then when they become teenagers they become so adept that even waterboarding may not work. ;)

Another "add a few $ to get free shipping" purchase. The little fuse puller and the relay pulling tool [bottom] will be handy. I have no idea if I'll ever use the two electrical connector pliers, but they did provide a temporary fix to the pliers addiction. :) Surprisingly solid for unlabeled...

Small order from Tekton arrived: I needed a pair of really small needle nose and these are awesome. The small pry bar set is the 1/4" size. Also picked up a wobble impact socket for the DeWalt 1/2" impact.

Is it Model # HOLC7218BB1MYS ??? I saw this on HD website: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-72-in-W-x-24-in-D-Heavy-Duty-18-Drawer-Mobile-Workbench-Cabinet-with-Adjustable-Height-Hardwood-Top-in-Matte-Black-HOLC7218BB1MYS/302255876

Keep the white - but ask for a discount since they made a mistake and you have proof. ;)

A few things that I've wanted to get at Harbor Freight - I finally got over there this morning. Magnetic power strip, which will replace the one I keep tripping over on the garage floor. Icon parrot-jaw pliers. Great for tight places and some of the plumbing I have to deal with at the house...

The wait for the mythical, unicorn-like Icon long nose pliers has become so long that in a week they'll be several knock-offs on Amazon. :)

Portable tool box, small toolbox, mobile tool bags, cantilever toolbox for essential tools

Many, many great ideas and set ups here. But I think if there is one universal rule, it's that no matter how well prepared, you are always going to forget to bring at least one tool. ;)

What is in the box at the top? I can't tell if they are tweezers or what. Thanks

I picked up a pair of these cheaper LED lights off Amazon [$16 for a pair] because I sometimes have a need for a light with a magnetic base. USB rechargeable and the magnet on the base is strong enough for what I need. These came from my Amazon add-on list when I need a few extra bucks to get...

Love walnut. I still have some boards that I glued together, planed and sanded back when I worked at the old Disbrow & Co in Omaha when I went back to school after a spell with Uncle Sam. We could take scraps off of jobs and with the tools that they had, make cutting boards, plaques, whatever...
