What did you do "IN" your garage today?

"sorted a small parts cabinet and tossed out all the slotted head screws" An excellent idea that I plan to implement tomorrow. Life is too short for slot-head screws.

Down south here in the KC area we got about 1/4" of freezing rain / ice first, then 10-12 inches of white stuff. I feel lucky that our short suburban driveway faces south, because when it gets above freezing I just use solar power to get rid of the snow. ;)

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

I've spent the past couple of days preparing for a power outage that could come from the blizzard we just experienced. Got the generator in position to roll out, lined up the propane tanks and feed hose, got the power feed line ready to hook up to the transfer panel, etc. So far the power has...

How does that 3.5 ton Rivian do in the snow? Do you have an on-site charger [meaning a small electric sub-station? :) ]

    Home Depot deals/sales/clearance

If it wasn't raining ICE here, I'd motor over to Home Depot to grab one of the 5.2g units. It'll have to wait.

Truth be told: the filter magnet has been in use since I changed over to the spin-on type filters.

AND speaking of cold waves - I live in Overland Park, KS and although the sun is shining for now, based on the forecast for freezing rain and snow, the city just came down the street - twice - spreading the salt/ice melt mixture they use. Looks like the driving season for the old 911 just...

Not if you use a spin on adapter from LN Engineering, like I do.

Not exactly a "new" tool to me....more like a "what was I thinking" tool. It's for cutting the top off of an oil filter, so that the insides can be examined for debris after an oil change. I've used it ONCE. The guys that work on my 911 said that while opening up the filter is OK, they...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

A minor thing but it got one more tool out of a bin: installed a bracket for the angle grinder onto my tool cart.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Spent some time finally organizing all of the loose 1/2" drive sockets with an organizer that sits in the top of my Homak tool cart. I don't have all that many, but just having them roll around loose was inconvenient at best. Also continued cycling a new Power Queen 12v LiFePO4 battery that I...

    Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT "Boxster Bay" Garage (24' x 30')

Great work, but my back aches just looking at the photos. I've done tile, both horizontal and vertical, and the best part is when it's all DONE.

Excellent. Great find. Might as well pick up a couple of lotto tickets while your luck holds.

The Lexus issue reminds me of the first gen Porsche Cayenne. The used a plastic coolant crossover thingie and located it under the intake manifold on the v-8. Nightmares. I used to do some DIY on my 911, but with 3 1/2" of ground clearance, even the old Rhino Ramps were a chore to use. I...

    Let's see your toolbox.

This thread and a couple of related ones saved me at least $600 this week. I was all set with the coupon to head to Harbor Freight to nab one of the 56" boxes [as shown in the coupon posted above]. I spent that morning re-reading a lot of this thread and others and realized that with a little...
