Another septic system topic. What to watch for when landscaping?

Already planning on running the line right to the road so it will be easy hook up down the road. Really it is only a matter of time so I might as well be prepared and not have to dig up my yard later. Hmm good to know, by small yard tractor how small are we talking? I was planning on using my...

Another septic system topic. What to watch for when landscaping?

Might help to know that the plan is for maple trees around the perimeter of the property and honey suckle elsewhere. Possible a grove of quaking aspen but that will be in the front yard. Then grass for the rest of the yard aside from the patio and splash pad which may be close to the tank and field.

Who knows about those metal carports??

Yes and no. They have a garage and were using the carport for their suv keeping grandmas car in the garage. When my grandpa passed she sold the suv and didn't need the carport anyways.

Who knows about those metal carports??

Rural community and both lots were owned by my grandparents. When it sold (to my cousins) they had to have a minimum abount of frontage so it got squeaked over about 5ft. May have been like that all along and nobody cared as the lot was just being used for farming or grandmas garden. Farming...

Who knows about those metal carports??

My grandma had one for years. Worked great, never had any isues even with out snow load and wind ratings. Only reason it was taken down was because the lot next to her was sold and property line moved to right down the middle of the thing.

Another septic system topic. What to watch for when landscaping?

The other thread got me thinking, what do I need to watch for while landscaping? We will be moving in soon (hopefully) and have a septic system. It may not be in use long as the city/county is trying to push for sewer system. Anyways. While doing a sprinkler system, planting trees, putting in...

    New house=FIRST GARAGE!!!!!!!

Correct Department of Ag. I'm not positive of the amount cap, I think that varies by area. I know they limit income also, for example in our area you can't break 70K in income or you won't qualify for the program. Also it does have to be considered rural. We are technically in the county...

    Why SMOKE Alarms chirp

Smoke detectors are the same way. Should both be replaced at 10 years, a lot will have a date of manufacture on them on the bottom or inside the battery door.

    Why SMOKE Alarms chirp

Usually a sign that the batteries are dead or gettng close. Some of them have a diagnostic system that will do that if there is a problem with them also. There should be lights that flash a certain amount of times for certain problems, look at your owners manual for all that info. But I would...

    New house=FIRST GARAGE!!!!!!!

More progress yesterday. Don't mind the construction dust. Master bath marble work around tub and shower. The color looks lighter than it is because it needs to be cleaned, but you get the idea. So now we are looking at finish electrical, finish plumbing, wood floors, carpet, final concrete...

    New house=FIRST GARAGE!!!!!!!

Correct it is a furnace. We have a full basement that won't be finished for a few years so radiant heat wasn't the best option. After we finish the basement we will be putting in a wood stove also for heat in the event of a power outage. Plus in our area, radiant heat isn't used too much so it...

So I stopped by this morning to see progress, mud and tape are done just need to be sanded. Also looks like they brought in a skid steer and compactor to get final grading done. But the important part is that a neighbor, down the road a bit, in one of the more modest homes in the area had his...
