Like Lugnutz stated above, clear poly does a great job sealing in the stench of the old plastic handles. I keep a quart of this around for dunking those, and for certain vintage wood tool handles...

To go your local full service hardware store and pick up a shaft collar similar to these. Put it against the step in the arbor,then washers if needed, then the flange, then the wheel, etc...

Thanks for posting! I have one of the hand vises with the removable handle, but I'm missing the handle. Anyone have an extra? The design is pretty clever. The jaws tighten from either side, so whatever you insert (so long as it is centered in the small middle notch in the jaws) is always on...

I'm sure I have a set around here somewhere. I hope it has the bolt!

agree that it's a modified sensitive drill press. Never seen one with 1 piece base, column, and head.

So is this basically a 13" long dead blow hammer head with no handle? Could be really useful. What's it weigh?
