They did quiet down a bit. When I installed the new hinges I cleaned the roller shafts and lubed them with some dry teflon spray. The tension on the rollers helps keep them from moving back and forth between the sides of the rails, which helps quiet it down during opening and closing.

Got the light wired up and started on the electrical to finally get the loose wires cleaned up.

Odd, I'm a Student Prime member and the code is not working. First tried doing it with an emailed gift card. Only works with a physically mailed card.

I haven't been able to notice a difference yet in regards to the temperature, but I can physically see that the hinges have forced the doors to put pressure against my seals. I put the hinges on without adjusting and of the spring tensions. I re-programmed the top and bottom limits for my doors...

Didn't have much time in the garage after class, but got another piece of PVC baseboard on and mounted the last light fixture in the single bay. Still need to get up into the attic to run the wiring to it.

Location will help people answer questions about the insulation. I'm in Wisconsin and when I sheet my ceiling I put up vapor barrier on the rafters then screwed the OSB in.

Got some of the trim for the conduit runs painted today. Also finished up the Liftmaster install by running the wiring for the opener button. I would have fished it through the wall, but there's a 2x4 ridge horizontally about 2 feet down from the ceiling. And I started installing the PVC trim.

Got my Green Hinges installed today. Gave the rollers a fresh coat of lube on the shafts and oiled the wheels while I had them off.

Got an outlet wired in and mounted for the second Liftmaster. Just need to run the cable for the opener button near the door separating the two sides.

I just installed two of the Liftmaster 8500's in my garage and have been really pleased with them so far. They've been installed about 4 days now, and the build quality is really nice on them. I don't see any disadvantages of them yet, or expect to have any regrets.

I put CFL's in the light of the first Liftmaster I installed and there haven't been any issues. It's only been up a couple days though. The manual does say "Recommended Compact Florescent or Incandescent"

I really like it so far. Only been installed and in use for a couple days now. I also started mounting the second Liftmaster on the second garage door. Also got trim around the door in the single bay mounted. Start cutting trim for the conduit runs.

Yeah I've seen these. I'll probably get a set for each door before winter.
