I do not know what you are looking to do with your lift, ( only storage ? ) but I would increase the height in the lift area so you can use the maximum lift height. You can see me Rotary 9,000lb. in my " The Shed' pics.

A 100 watt light bulb inside a cabinet or two will keep everything from freezing, would be better if it was insulated. This is how we always kept the barn water from freezing and only had a wooden box around the pump.
