Oh ok, no I didn't use anything like that, I just took apart the acetylene reg not the oxygen

I took the reg apart and the little spring inside was stuck, so i took it apart and cleaned it, works like a charm! Thanks for the input guys

by closed i mean backed all the way out...im assuming my reg is no good...im able to score another set of gauges, so when i get them this weekend ill try them out

I bought this set at an estate auction for $130, oxygen is empty and acetylene has some in it. My question is, when i open up my acetylene tank with the regulator CLOSED, the output gauge maxes out and it just pours out the tip. Are these regs hooked up wrong? Or is it a bad reg? This is how...

Ok thanks, and another quick question, I spoke with the people at my local gas supply store and they said as long as I have a bill of sale that they are able to swap the tanks or fill them up, anyone e had any issues with getting used tanks filled/swapped?

Im gonna be buying a set of torches this weekend of CL, and was wondering how to transport them home? i have a full size truck but i heard somewhere that you arent supposed to lay the tanks down...is this true?
