What are/(were) your most USELESS tools?

I have one of those. It worked 20 years ago, a couple of times. It split two rusted Belair fender support bar nuts no problem. I tried it on something else a few weeks back and got the same results as you.

Looking for info on Stanley ratchets

Someone left one of those behind when they moved out of my old house. After pressing on a worn out screwdriver handle, I find myself using it quite often.

    clamp storage ideas

I nailed a scrap piece of 1x4 between 2 of the ceiling rafters. It keeps C clamps within easy reach, but out of the way.

    The repurposing thread

I don't have a full size bench grinder yet, but I do have an extra handheld. After rooting around in my junk pile I figured out a temporary solution. Whatever that heavy arm is, came off a Mccormick hay baler. I roughed off most of the rust, primered it, then hit it with some leftover metallic...

Anyone use a Rothco military style mechanic tool bag?

I haven't used mine in years. The pockets are mostly useless. They're great just to grab a few tools and go.

Angle grinders, How do you store them.

What is your "go to" ratchet.

Lately? Old Powr Kraft 3/8 I picked up at the flea market for $5. For 1/2 I use my old Giller.

Am I insane for thinking this is cool?

I have a couple of old Mccormick square baler flywheels in my shop. They're about 3 ft tall. Too heavy to move by hand.

    2017 Garage Sale Thread

Took the wife to several flea markets today. I found everything in the picture for $14. I should've bought more but I found all of those at the first stop and I didnt want to run out of cash. The Craftsman screwdrivers and torx drivers look to be unused.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Cleaned and painted a cheap HF arbor press. It sat on my back porch rusting for 3 years before moving it into the shop last month.

    Black & Decker Workmate

I wish I still had mine. It was from the late 80s/early 90s. Someone stole it out of my barn before I lived on the property (along with an engine stand, my old vise, and various digging tools) I used it mostly for securing rifles to site in.

    Hoosier Drill help

I know, technically not really a tool, but it is vintage. I found this end plate off of an old grain drill in a junk pile on the farm. I think it would make a great wall hanger, cleaned and repainted. I'm just not sure how to go about it. Whats the best way to remove the rust scales? Anyone...

    The VISES of Garage Journal

I temporarily mounted my new to me Wilton. I didn't put much effort into it as I have to re-skin the workbench pretty soon. My workshop is an old barn with a dirt floor and I fix it up a little at a time.

Pulling old posts from ground video info

For T posts I used to wait until after a good rain and wiggle them around, then pull up by hand. Wooden posts I dug up. Now I have a backhoe, I can just loop a chain and yank them out.

    The VISES of Garage Journal

After snapping my chicom vise in half, I finally got around to getting a quality American made unit. Last night I bought an older Wilton shop king on eBay. I'll have some pics after it's delivered and mounted.
