The rope cutter makes a nice clean cut, and the ferrule slips on easily, BUT the crimp leaves a lot to be desired, look at the flange on it.

I remember those from far earlier days. I understand the preference for metal handles, certainly easier to clean off oil and grease. Knipex make the red dipped plastic handles, much better in terms of cleaning than the 'ergo' type that is now all the fashion.

nice Stahlwille. TBS is good place to source too, have always found their shipping rates to Oz very reasonable.

Ruko has always been seriously sound afaik, founded in 1974. I got single hole chamfers, step drills and counterbore drills, all good. Volkel have been around for 100years, and their specialty is threading tools. They manufacture in Europe and Asia.

No COO tells you something; it is NOT made in Oz. I bought mine about 6 months ago, very convenient, but they don't like paint, or snap crackle fizz and pop, enough so to frizzle the plating on the MagSwitch. I would get a bigger size too than the the 300 Amp I got, even running it on a 230Amp...

It's not the thickness that is at issue, it is the surface finish. The ceramic discs give a really nice fine brushed look, whereas steel wire brushes tend to burnish and scratch. They also remove paint much faster, and offer far greater depth control. Two of the attached pics show removing...

NICE find. Mine (new) cost 20x that shipped to Oz. Rather than a steel brush, find some woven ceramic discs for crud removal, faster and very little impact on the steel surface . Nylon brushes (embedded ceramic) on a drill also work well. schmooh, I can guess, but haven't encountered the term...

I have had my 2201 2" for about 5 years, handy little tool. The disc mount screws are prone to shearing off prematurely, if the disc gets bogged down in difficult areas.

Hazet are terrific, I have a lot. Have a look at Stahlwille, even better in some aspects; finish, handle shape, and lighter. Have a look at TBS Aachen for both http://www.tbs-aachen.de

Yes after 13 years sad news that Edd China left the program (Wheeler Dealers). The rather stupid american producers Velocity, were intent on reducing the 'technical' content i.e. the workshop build processes ( which were the core of the show) 'too difficult' to make and too expensive - never...

thanks jinjaninja and 1/2 Cup. Got the Structaflor (22mm red) cut and up for the back mezzanine. The Fine voltage switch ( 3 phase 415V mig welder) has been grungy for a while, and finally seized on 3, have ordered a new one, and waiting, so had to do the flooring. 1/2 Cup; just looked at...
