Good Grief. The Allen key would seem to be NOT metric. When you slip the open ender on, there is already an obvious clearance angle and engagement on about only half the face. I didn't get beyond that point. Brutality and misfitting seems to be the norm, given the chewed up jaws at the start...

Bought these Makita Straight Shears (JS1300) and Nibblers (JN1601) today. Both Made in Japan. Have some further corrugated iron cutting to do, so thought I would make like easier for myself and retire the Gilbows to small jobs. The nibblers in particular are surprisingly smooth. They shed...

I also finally got around to unpacking these Kant Twist clamps. 2" (405) and 2 1/2" (407) sizes. Made by Clamp Manufacturing Company, Inc., based in South El Monte, CA. Since 1973, as I understand it. Made in the USA. An impromptu temporary modification to the clamp rack required.

Fireball Tools do international shipping. Many, but not all places do. If there is something I gotta have from the US ( which is is very infrequent as I mostly buy from Europe), I use an Oz based service - Price USA; they have locals in the US who buy the item, and then ship to me. A far...

They are :-) I like them more than my Bessey WS-9's already They post anywhere as far as I know, the USD/EUR exchange rate is good. I USD = 0.85 EUR, unlike USD = 1.37 AUD. Effectively in the last 2 years, buying from O/S and shipping to OZ has gone up 50% in the last 2 years...

Finally got myself a Waku ladder. 6 step extendable to 6.4m. Made in Germany. I have borrowed one of these a few times, and the first time I did, it was a 'I gotta get me one of these' moment. It is like walking up a staircase, they are so solid. Light enough to comfortably carry around too...

    Question about painted floors

I'd suggest while grinder sparks may not leave visible scarring on the floor, run your hand over it and maybe feel the effect. Grinder spark spray will etch into glass, e.g nearby car windows; you can see it from the right angle, and certainly feel it
