    Those ring spanners have nicely formed shapes on the 'top' surfaces sections. Dowidat was not uncommon in Australia back in the 60's; 'dow-i-dat' in the local Oz vernacular :-) There was some Gedore too, but mostly the then locally produced Sidchrome.

    and yesterday, a box from Berlin very nice E.C. Emmerich PRIMUS Improved Smooth Plane 711 , Lignum vitae sole, it evens smells very nice. Quite amazing wood Lignum vitae, still used for bearings, once used for ship prop shaft bearings apparently. Also EE.C. Emmerich adjustable block plane 649-P
