This is why you don't use a vise as a press

Cheater bar is primitive technology. Weld a nut on the spindle and use a big impact wrench.:p

    Walmart Clearance

That's a decent deal for quality jackstands. Those appear identical to the other 4 ton "quick lift" stands at Advance Auto , Autozone and other places. I have the TEQ brand from AA and the metal gauge is heavy, welds perfect and little side to side slop of the ratchet bar.

Amazon Deals on New Retail Items - Post them!

2032 battery packaging is simple compared to the child-proof hearing aid battery packs. On the Ray-o-Vac brand I've been drilling out the plastic weld spots between each battery just to get the damn batteries out. It's easier than trying to cut the tough plastic.

Amazon Deals on New Retail Items - Post them!

A few months ago I checked out Amazon while looking for a power strip or surge protector and found that many didn't have any certifications or meet standards and looked sketchy. I think a couple of reviews had pictures showing a melted built-in USB charging port. But they were cheap. I finally...

The pliers are to pinch the hand that shouldn't be on the shooter's shoulder.

    How tall is your workbench

I remember reading someplace that one rule of thumb was the work surface height, with arms at your side, to be even with where your wrist meets your hand. I have mine about 2-1/2" lower at~34". Another rule was the top surface of the bench vise to be even with forearm parallel to floor...

    HF oddest size skip set

As has been said here many times before, you don't know what you're going to encounter in the world of fasteners. I've always been the maintenance/repair, as-needed basis DIY through the years and have unexpectedly encountered 7mm hex head screws, 9mm allen head bolts and small external torx...

    Amazon Warehouse Deals

If they can't even inspect before shipment (and maybe even know what they're looking at), what do you think are the chances they'll get the correct parts to you. Just sayin'.

Cheap 2ton floor jack cylinder question

Where does the fluid bypass to. Single acting cylinder, the cylinder is extended and already filled with fluid so the fluid can't bypass backwards. If there isn't another seal at the rod end (some cylinders don't) the fluid leaks out past the rod. I'm having trouble visualizing this.

Trouble getting button head cap screws out

To avoid impact on the glass you might try this style of screw extractor that doesn't always need to get hammered in. Lowes carries a similar style Craftsman ...

    BernzOmatic torch

I paid ~ $34 back then for my TS4000. It has a fixed flame but the adjustable flame TS8000 was considerably more expensive. I put the price difference toward the 59" extension hose to allow better access/orientation that the clunky cylinder wouldn't allow. I just checked, the TS8000 is 53.98 at...

Time for a new bench grinder me thinks

I have the 6" Delta #23-660 thin-line grinder with the same 2.5A rating as yours. I think we have (or you had) the same grinder with different housings. It's been adequate for my needs doing light wire wheeling and grinding but I know I wouldn't want a 6" grinder with less amps/power. No way...
