What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Pretty much spent the day sweating--indoors and out. I've been hoping to get in a camping trip to Hat Point--one of the higher places I can drive to in the county. However, Hat Point sits at around 6K ft elevation, between two river canyons of around 1K ft. elevation and it's now monsoon...

If my eyes don't deceive me, yours has a five-digit postal code--so sixties, IIRC?

SHOW OFF YOUR VINTAGE METAL CANS AND CONTAINERS!! oil, gas, ointments, and just cans

Yep. The Nokorode name is accurate--you just wipe off the excess and, unlike other fluxes I've used, it never causes corrosion. Built out an entire brewery with it. Hundreds of sweat joints, fewer leaks than I have fingers.

2026 Garage Sale Thread (15th Annual)

That "fistfull" style ratchet used to show up at the army/navy surplus stores back in the seventies--but they were olive green. I had one for years, lost it somewhere, and never missed it enough to replace. BTW: You ****.

    Jumper cable/Charger clamps

Have you considered remote terminals for the jumpers, like you'll see on roadside assistance and tow vehicles? Also, have you considered buying a new battery and/or alternator so you don't need jumps anymore?

May as well replace the diaphragm and flap vales while you have it out.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

People selling water and hats? Good thing I can't afford to go to Coachella and such. Not that I would anyway, having become pretty agoraphobic in my later years.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

I wear a 7 3/4" hat size in long oval. Many hats come no larger than 7 to 7 1/2 and most are round. Filling the hat with warm water and letting it soak until it seeps out the outside softens the hat enough I can "reblock" it by wearing it until it dries. Works on felt, straw and palm. I also...

    Show Your Vintage Utica Tools!

Mine retired at 60. I sometimes miss it--then I recall that only one other organ has gotten me in so much trouble over the years.

    Yes, to both questions.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

To be honest, I have spent some time in the tropicals and places like Houston. I just refuse to like it. In the tropics, at least I could spend most of the day snorkeling.

    Triple square set recommendations

Capri I bought--just the one--fit my Vanagon CV bolts like it was made for it. It was tight enough to make feeding the outer CV bolts into the housing easy. Maybe I got lucky?

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Just finished the last of the lawn mowing for the week. I wanted to do it tomorrow morning, but don't trust the weather. For hydration, just finished my second quart of electrolyte mix for the day. Mixing up another right now so I can go out and blow the trimmings off the walks and pads. Now...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Hey, Southerners, I have a question for ya'll: HOW THE HELL DO YOU PEOPLE LIVE LIKE THIS?!?!? It rained all night (too bad I left the driver's window of the Toy open) and most of the morning. Now it's high overcast, 80 degrees F and 80% RH. I'm chasing complaints of leaks all over the brewery...

Neighbors always get some entertainment from the geyser issuing from the rooftop vent stack!

From now on, I'm calling .22 LR zwei zwei flansch boden. Mostly because I don't remember twenty from my high-school German.

Ryobi telescoping power scrubber for boat

The two best days of owning a boat with a waterfall pool are the day you buy it and the day you sell it.

Ryobi telescoping power scrubber for boat

When I was in EnZed, I was surprised to learn that a yacht there meant a sailboat--any sailboat.
