    Rafter Type

I probably made it sound more difficult than it really is Bill. I would use that method if I only had a few cuts >45°, other wise it was my Bigfoot 10". After 32 years of framing, I still miss the smell of fresh Douglas Fir in the morning!

    Rafter Type

Back in my previous life, I cut many conventional roofs. You can create cheek cuts greater than a 45° by either making the plumb cut first, then say you need a 60° cheek cut, you then subtract the needed angle from 90° (90 minus 60 = 30) set your saw table to 30° and make your cheek cut by...

I would call that a "rafter is too short, now what?"...seriously.

Shop Compressor -- turn off when not in use?

I didn't use to, but a friend that also left his on 24-7 at his shop, had a pop-off valve stick open on his compressor which then ran continuously all weekend until the pump went south, then fried the motor. I have since then started turning mine off at night, both at my shop and my home.

    10ft walls hipped roof

You might consider either a Jerkinhead or Dutch Gable design. Both give you longer ridge length while adding some 'Hip' flavor. Think outside the box...yes that was a play on words.

    wheel barrow recommendations

I absolutely love my Rubbermaid 7.5 cu. ft. commercial grade 2 wheeled poly cart. It rolls so easily with it's large 20" diameter wheels and the wheel placement allows you to balance the CG of your load fore & aft. I can push and steer with one hand if on flat terrain (leaving one hand free to...

1 inch 1/8 wall square tubing for shop air

Jeeeez...somebody needs to pull the plug on this thread. Here, read this... Garden hoses are manufactured to withstand a certain amount of pressure. The pressure at which they split is the burst pressure rating. A low-quality hose will burst at about 200 psi, and a high-quality hose can hold...

Need air compressor help-moisture in the air hose

Think about it...a static (no air movement) wall mounted aluminum tube unit vs. a belt guard mounted dynamic (fan cooled) copper tube (60% more thermal conductivity than aluminum...even without the fan cooling). For the dollars spent, I believe you're money ahead with the belt guard mounted...

Need air compressor help-moisture in the air hose

Can't beat that deal niget, AND it's made in the US! Just need -8 adapters to flare or compression and a couple of angle mounts and you're good to go. I would check the max PSI rating to be safe. EDIT: I read that they are rated @250 PSI.
