US General Tool Storage - Still best bang for the buck?

I don't know how they were years ago, but I just purchased the 56" wide cabinet along with the upper 56" chest a few weeks ago. I have quite a few Snap-on boxes (as you can see a few of them in my avatar) and I have to be honest, for the money spent, the US General is a great product. My only...

I cut open my air compressor tank. Take a look..

Correct, that is the Bekomat design. I installed a street 90 into the receiver to keep it as tight to the receiver as possible to allow room for the Bekomat 14. The Bekomat's have worked flawlessly for many years...their reservoir fills, float actuates the solenoid and a short (1 second?) burst...

I cut open my air compressor tank. Take a look..

I too am a big proponent of vertical receivers for this reason. I my business, I have a 120 gal and a 240 gal hooked up in series. Both drain into Bekomat automatic drains so there is never any standing moisture in the bottom of the receivers.

    Saylor-Beall 737-80

Do you notice that it only blows off when it's dead quiet in your shop? I'm sure the devil has something to do with that!

US General Tool Storage - Still best bang for the buck?

Regarding the "additional 10% off" when applying for their CC, this is the small print I read regarding this... "Offers subject to credit approval and cannot be combined. If your purchase qualifies for multiple offers, you will be asked to choose the offer to apply. Equal pay purchases and 10%...

Great choice, you will be very happy with S.B. Lead times are running quite longer than we're all used to for sure.

Reminds me of the hippie days of 'torched' cable reels for coffee tables. I like it.

    Saylor-Beall VT-PL-735-80 Thoughts

If you do the math, you'll find the PL pump adds $455, so add that to the 'FP' price comes to $4213.00 for a fully packaged PL unit. Give them a call to verify, but that's what I came up with...can't hurt.

Check these guy's... https://smittysequipmentsales.com/product/saylor-beall-vt-735-80-air-compressor-usa-made/ I assume you DO have 3 phase power? You can't go wrong with S-B...why do you think they are so widely cloned?

Mounting Unistrut to Slanted Rafters for Trolley

I was thinking along the lines of bukitcase's idea, although I was picturing the 90° angle bolted vertically to the rafter with the bottom leg level then bolt through the top of the unistrut. You could make your own with some 1/4"x 2" HR steel flat bar.

Getting my new air compressor delivered in about a month

You'll probably spend at least half that much on something that's not nearly as efficient...so really the cost would be $375!...and it's already done.

Getting my new air compressor delivered in about a month

Just a suggestion...S-B has a killer aftercooler option, with the fan driven off the motor. That's the best way to cool down that hot moisture laden air and get it to the bottom of the receiver to be drained off with the auto drain. If it's not to late to change your order...

    707 Clone Rebuild

FYI, I just installed a 10 HP WEG 1PH on a friends 'new to him' compressor and I found that the electrical access hole on the side of the capacitor case is NPT thread, not a straight thread.

That pump has many different designations. U1258, SC46, EC10 and X-1220. I have no idea if they're all the same pump or not but it sure is confusing. I was told by Cary @ Pacific Air Compressor that the U1258, (sold through ACS) will accept Saylor-Beall valve components. Your pump looks more...

What fitting for plumbing this compressor aftercooler?

Or...since the OEM fitting is brass, I assume it's a soldered fitting. You could cut the fitting off and solder a fitting of your choice in it's place.

Northern tool air compressor leaking air

tdkkart said it all. If you soap the 2 fittings on the check valve and they don't leak, then it's the check valve. A small piece of 'poopie' can get lodged in the valve preventing it from seating completely.
