    Evercraft Wrenches

I picked up a set for the neighbor boy. He was always borrowing my tools to disassemble and reassemble his bike. They were a good deal so I bought him a set. He was thrilled. They were raised panel, like my first set when I was 13, they work fine for working on bikes.

Should I buy a big vise?

Only buy it if you need it.

    Mastercraft step drill bits

I do a pilot hole. I use these on sheet metal and they are fine. I have a set of Greenlee in my work box that are better. The CT ones are for home use really, and CT knows that.

    School me on adjustable wrenches

In previous thread on this topic, I believe the Gray adjustables are made by Proxene, out of Taiwan. I think that the other thread showed that MAC uses Proxene for adjustables as well.

Generators - Switch Or No Switch?

Spend the money and get the switch, and hire a pro to install it. Get a PERMIT. Then you are going to have a safe backup power system set up. Don't cheap out. The damage that occurs to your existing house and wiring, and cost, will be nothing compared to a good and safe switch installation...

Ratcheting screwdrivers, whats a good one?

Mine is the Williams, rebranded International Harvestor. Paid 30-35$ for it here in Canada. The bits are snapon bits. Don't waste your money on SO, this one does the job. I use mine, but nothing beats using a normal screwdriver.

    canadian tire channellock lineup

CT needs to supply the better 318 needle nose rather then the 317. I already have a 318, but I think everyone else should have one too. The 317 has its place, but the 318 is bigger and tougher. I would welcome the selection of adjustables, not that I need any, I already have quit the...

    No BS screwdriver guide

Another vote for Williams. As already said, shanks are the same. Old HH style if that is what you prefer. I personally like the Instincts SO's. I have SO and Williams cannot go wrong with either. I like the feel of the Instinct grip, and I think the tri lobe design gives better grip. Some...

    Questions for the Cornwell guy

Not even sure if there is a Cornwell dealer around here, never ever saw a truck. I know two local snappy guys. One is great, I consider him a friend, an expensive friend mind you. The other SO guy is nice, but pushy, he is always trying to make a deal and sell up. That is his job I guess...

so the snap on tool box rep came to our shop...

My SO guy does not bad mouth other brands at all. He even carries Channellock and knipex in his truck. Even saw some Irwin in there. He never badmouths Mastercraft. His approach is pretty laid back, but he has had his truck a long time and I know all the shops like him. Most techs I know are...

    Williams tools in Canada?

I did purchase a set of Williams screwdrivers from Amazon.ca. Cost was reasonable compared to truck brands. My Williams screwdrivers are SO style hh. Would have loved to pay what friends south of the border can pay, and free shipping. But for the extra money and no hassle of going over the...

    Williams tools in Canada?

Amazon.ca. Prices higher then amazon.com. Stock is small, waiting is a must. No gaurentee that you will get preferred coo if that is what you are looking for. Much of Williams is the same as Blue Point, so SO dealer can get it. Also CASE IH carries tools that are rebranded Wlliams and Blue...

    Channel lock brand

What BUCO said. Good price and good tools. CT always puts them on sale. - have several pair, 369 for my electrical work, love em, not keen on the dykes, klien has the good dykes hands down, and water pumps, great, cable cutters, awesome, 460 are good

    Are your tools engraved?

In construction tools disappear quickly. How many times did my Klien needle nose grow legs? My solution in shop to locating your stuff is to use a brand that others are not using, especially in rat's, sockets and wrenches. Here in Canada, many techs and fabricators use Canadian Tire Maximum...
